I dont have any deep experience with Twitch but everyone i know looks for ways to skip or circumvent the ad rolls since its a harder adblock than YT and most streamers complain about the mid-rolls coming in pretty key moments, so they gotta be pretty prevalent. Even if most streamers get alot of money from direct donos there is no way there isnt an effect from being jewed out by advertising

Mald probably isn't that wrong on what's happening. If twitch has less ad money to go around, of course they're gonna ration it so the problematic creators take a hit. I can't say for certain as I don't watch and I'm not about to start just to get a definite; but one of the privileges of being a big streamer is you generally make more with tips/direct donations than any advertisement. Do people play advertisements, yes, in fact I'll admit that you can tell LTG is thirsty for cash with how much he plays ads; there's also AfterSchoolSophie (big ups on surviving the nigger-word debacle) who plays ads too, but not as often. And this is where you have to weigh how things go, because you play ads to hopefully get money; subscriptions are more direct, but also let subscribers skip advertisements. I haven't looked into it, but I am genuinely curious how many people subscribe to avoid ads and not because they just like the streamer; and I wonder this because arguing adsense seems silly when Twitch's own subscription program lets you skip ads, there has to be some fucking actuary or few who've done the numbers and decided how to fucking juggle this system.

Sorry, sidetracked, but back to my original point; big streamers like Mald, Hassan, Asmon, and others don't have to worry about the adsense directly, because they have a viewerbase who throw money at them hand over fist. They're not gonna go hungry or miss a Christmas Vacation or whatever because Hassan and his friends called for Intifada; it'll be smaller streamers (and busted ass coons like LTG) who will feel it. So he's not wrong, it's not happening, for him, or Hassan, or Asmon, or Pokimane, or that gay dude Ludwig, or others... and that's without getting into anyone who may have a legitimate partnership contract with them.

I went back and looked at the video of his 2023 steam awards and there definitely seems like there was a point or two where his voice slipped a bit. Of course that’s probably already been discussed “it was xyz” and can probably be chalked off to “emotions” but definitely seems a little off.

Ferrschwitz made me laugh. But you are absolutely correct in this. There isn't any swearing on that channel, there aren't any takes at all on that channel. It is animals wiggling around 24/7. They can dump any and all ads on it without fear of even a curse word. Although they might get a dead ferret at some point or two... That wouldn't go well for the channel and might honestly get it banned from twitch.

It's actually pretty simple, if ad revenue doesn't affect streamers that much, it's cutting into twitch revenue which already is struggling with profitability. Who knows what happens if Amazon overlords take action on their failing subsidiary.
