Another large group of these people are usually the result of overzealous 80s-style evangelical Christian parents that pushed them into degeneracy and, as a result, have a bad relationship with Christianity.
This is a very simple mindset: "The only reason why anyone would be against porn is because of religion" which is kind of a bastard child of the whole new atheism movement from the 2000s that blamed all stuff on religion (usually only christianity).

Specifically, a lot of the original dev team for Blue Archive quit over a year or so ago and split off into their own studio, and meanwhile, the dev team hired in several new writers and, more pertinently, a number of artists who have previously drawn pornographic illustrations of the Blue Archive characters as official designers and artists.

Those "fundies" always did have a good point or so regarding the slippery slope and its hazardous effects. One of the big problems Christians during the 90s-10s had was being able to articulate their moral and social positions without preaching to the choir (“X is bad because the Bible says so!” “Jesus said X, therefore, Y”). When discussing why gooning to porn is destructive or why the LGBT movement actually was a slippery slope of sexual degeneration, they failed to make a compelling argument to the internet atheist that doesn’t believe the Bible makes sense or that Jesus was real, let alone God. Christians have gotten better at making their case over the last ten years, but the boomer mindset of the evangelical era had to lose and die off before that could happen.
See, I was considering going back-and-forth on using "posers" and "tourists" to describe those in the fandom who haven't been "fans" (if that) for a few years yet complain about how Japanese anime is. Given the projection these lolicons strongly emit, I honestly doubt they're true fans of the medium and are only in it for the porn. I've seen this with shippers, wouldn't be shocked that anime fandom as a whole is being co-opted by these degenerate fucks.

That's the point I was trying to get across. Yes, any well-adjusted individual is going to be against pedos and lolicons on basic moral principles. But some people (increasingly zoomers) make that their entire identity and spend their days picking pointless fights, chasing clout, and playing internet vigilante against random anime profile pictures on twitter. Those are the guys that call themselves anti-lolicons.
It only makes any sense if you're thinking in culture war terms. It goes more or less like this: woke people will attempt to infiltrate and take over any fandoms they find, then push to make all the female characters ugly, therefore the only way to be safe from them is to close ranks and be so objectionable anyone trying to infiltrate the group will be outed and cast out immediately.

This is dumb for a lot of reasons. While it's fun to blame localizers, the fact is A: ratings boards exist and B: Translation from funny Asian languages is a BITCH. They don't even use the same alphabet that the germanic languages use. Sometimes, direct translation =/= what they actually mean, because language isn't math, it's subtext.
The real bitch thing is, some people have pointed this out, which just lead to certain groups of fan translators (the most notorious of which being Zetsu, with help from a few other lesser fan TLs on the side) usually taking the time to compile screenshots of multiple different language translations (of questionable accuracy) from JP to KR to CN (if the Chinese script is available since that version of the game is way behind the rest) in order to make a point of "SEE? None of them are getting paid, so you shouldn't expect quality. I know, that's how i read my manga. And when you compare it to the official translation, its like "huh, the charecter didn't say FUCK here (because that word doesn't exist in nip speak)". Yes there are bad official translators. Most aren't. Most just do their jobs because they want to get paid. Those that do fuck with shows/games are wealthy enough to afford not just using translating as their sole source of income.
