In my opinion there's no argument to be had about who the main character of season 3 is. Burt has dominated the clipped moments, dominated the memes from the show and by far the most talked about person. There is a reason why Burt was picked out of everyone to do the whole Xavier bit it's because he is the protagonist. People can hate Burt that's fine but he clearly is the main character of the show this season. Just like Letty was in season 1 and just like TJ was in season 2 Burt is the main character of this season.

It's a fair argument to make that Burt was the main character, but I personally disagree because the reasons in my initial post. I think the way Mizzy affected the entire cast, and her more positive character arc is more valuable to the season as a whole than the clipped moments of Burt. I'll say if Mizzy was the main character or protagonist then Burt was absolutely the antagonist since Mizzy was his biggest enemy, so he's certainly an MVP and far from irrelevant like Payton.
