It would be very optimistic to expect a ruling on Kayla's motion will come by Nick's new settlement conference date. It's scheduled for a week after the deadline for the state to respond.
Oops! Thanks!

I'm curious what happened at the last minute to scuttle a deal, since it seemed to me that Nick was hinting strongly for some time that he was going to accept the deal.
4D.

Can the prosecutor bring up that Nick didn't use the "I'm an actor" defense for his own request to void the search warrant? Did he forget he was only acting until after his attempt to get the warrant thrown out failed? Was he also acting when the church members and Kayla's family members thought he was on drugs? Was he pretending to do lines in front of Aaron for months? He's either the greatest method actor of all time or a lying liar who lies.

I get the feeling he thought he could get them to agree to something and they didn't agree to it.
That's the only reason I can think he is kicking the can down the road.
He is desperate to get something changed in the deal.
My guess is he wants the bodycam footage and something else sealed. The bodycam is out of vanity which fits his personality well.
But there has to be something else too. Maybe its drug testing and mandates for multiple years or something.

I think he was prepared to accept a deal today, but he was hoping he could convince them to agree to a something a little less bitter in the 11th hour, and they told him no dice.
That was my read too

That wouldn't need to be negotiated. To do that he just needs to accept the agreement. If he goes to trial any parts which are entered into evidence will become public record.

It was held off the record, nothing said in that room will be published.

The only thing that will be filed is the obligatory notice of the upcoming hearing.
We will get no information whatsoever.
Someone explain to me how this is legal when the court is supposed to be public and open. We've been told time and time again how CORRUPT the county and state are, and now they are doing literal star chamber shit... how is this allowed? How do we know Nick didn't bribe the judge w/ balldos and cash?

This shit stinks worse than April's vagina.

Nick and his lawyer fucked up the procedure so badly he could not have brought that argument up in any filing he made. He went all in on a Franks defense, for which this would be irrelevant, and by omission forfeited an argument of probable cause, which this is.

"He's my best friend" and she'll save him. * sigh *

Its worth remembering that he probably didn't sleep at all last night and that his behavior leading up to the hearing was erratic to the point of being demented. He seems to care way more about other things like getting revenge on Aaron than anything to do with his own case. A butterfly landing on his car or a plastic bag drifting across the road could convince him to reject the deal.

He could also be trying to own everyone by subverting expectations. He gave melton $100 to own all his detractors by convincing them he was gong to take the deal.

The circumstances were also rather strange. Aborting the public hearing to discuss the case in chambers at this particular time is slightly odd to say the least. If he went into the hearing accepting or rejecting the plea, expectations are that they would have done it in the room in public. Taking it private means maybe they were set up to do one thing and did the other.

I think the state wants to chase up the drug dealer's ladder. So Nick gets pressed with jail time or he sing. A year or less , gets 90 days good behaviour. sobers up or nosedives. And that heavily depends on if the ladder climbing Ape is still around or not.

Did this guy take a plea deal or what?
What's the straight answer?

it was a rather strange ordeal. Me and some other woman were finally allowed inside by the bailiff along with Nick, his wife, and Kayla. Then me and the other person there just sat while they all stood up in the corner whispering. 20 minutes of literal nothing in the courtroom then the bailiff ushered us out after everyone in the backroom came out. Literally nothing happened and no one said anything about anything. Incredibly jarring. Even the bailiff and the people at the front seemed very confused when we asked questions.

I have no idea how the court system operates on shit like this and it probably shows.
I just assumed that if he plead in it'd be a matter of fact of guilt and people could FOIA the video without need for consent.
E:
But if he was proven not guilty it would have to be thrown out.

Even though I crossed out that I was sympathetic, I still kinda am after what I saw Kayla go through today. She needs ti fucking grow a pair and take care of the kids. Hopefully someone can. Also appreciate that people enjoyed what little I had to offer today.
Isn't Kayla just as culpable as Nick? She did the drugs. She didn't feed or clothe the kids. She wanted the polycule, and even invented the term "qover." This is what she wanted.

He went in with his Balldo Plan and thinking he was getting the sweetheart deal he probably could have got in the first place if he hadn't completely tarded out. Instead, they told him he could get the fuckup deal he gets for fucking up and being a fucking idiot.

Balldo Man
Balldo Man
All according to Balldo Plan

So he thinks
Then he drinks
But in court
His dumb plan sinks

Oh yeah, the amazing Balldo Man.
