I guess it's """common sense""", to perhaps save face, or to not give """their enemies""" (us) ammunition (or something).

I must disagree, I have seen fujos dogpile in the same way if a particular ship or degenerate aspect of a ship they like is questioned.
The difference is in exact tactics because the situation is different. Instead of deflecting by calling you a pedophile, they'll say you are bigoted against gays, for example.

The problem with sexual deviancies is they cluster.
A lot of old-school gays supported NAMBLA's mission but were canny enough to realize they had to make a show of casting them out to win public acceptance.
The same thing happened with trannies back in the day too; there were instances where the gays in the US broke solidarity with the trannies when a legislative victory was in sight, saying the trannies would get their "rights" later.
That's why the post about Aethy regarding the shutdown casting the US political climate as queer suppression is not entirely wrong, in the sense that them considering themselves as part of queer subculture is basically correct.

It either must be "denial" or "barganing". Maybe add a mix of "anger", as they are always angry at us or anyone who thinks differently than them, usually those who ascribe to the "ideology". Yet with the things I see, and looking at history (especially at NAMbLA) you cannot tell me there are "coincidences", with the shit of "virtuous gays" trying to distance themselves. I can believe of a homosexual here who browses the farms and such, maybe even who may think differently of the overall movement and does the thinking for himself or herself - despises the movement, and that's fine.
What I don't believe is those who ascribe to the "alphabet soup", flag crap (rainbow shit), those MLM, FLF, whatever you have and then have the audacity to tell me they are virtuousos. No, I won't believe them, because they have some goal in mind. Tired of seeing people letting their guard down.
