First it was “power of the cloud”, then “12 TB beast”, then “$299 Xbox Series S” followed by “$9.99 Game Pass”, “unexploited tools” and “Bethesda + Activision-Blizzard acquisition”.

Now the new narrative is “Xbox will win the handheld console war”. The goalposts keep moving:story:

Xbox has always been a bit off in their marketing/hiring. Remember Larry Hryb? He was an odd choice back in the day.
 
Just had my old OG xbox shit the bed. This is like the 3rd time something went wrong with the hardware inside, hopefully it's just a dead capacitor or something that can be easily replaced.

The original Xbox is such a hunk of shit and it's the only 6th gen console I've had issues like this with. Was it really that much more expensive to buy some capacitors that weren't fucking awful during the capacitor plague?

I guess you need to replace the OG Xbox clock capacitor.

I'm not shocked. The use of avatars on the Xbone and Series have been basically nonexistent. I still got my 360 and it's still pretty neat how they integrated your avatar in a couple of games. Plus, you get to see your custom character standing next to your profile every time you boot up the console, along with all your friends' avatars.

Your current avatar on the current systems meanwhile are basically never seen outside of your profile, which you gotta manually select through that stupid Windows 10-esque dashboard the current consoles have. Completely wasted.

I actually forgot Xbox Series/One even HAD avatars. Besides, players can just add their OWN pictures as profile pictures. And with that, do you know how many menus you'd have to navigate through TO get to the Xbox avatars now?

At least a couple for certain. I basically never visit my actual profile tab since all the stuff I'd want from it (gamerscore, messaging, etc) is available elsewhere on the dashboard, so it ends up just being a wasted tab for me.

One thing I always found weird too was that there were two avatar editors under apps, which I guess is for both variations of avatar. Just feels like a waste of space to have two apps for basically the same feature, but Microsoft has to Microsoft.

I have a Series X, the lack of exclusives doesn't really bother me, its mostly extra storage at this point for games I cannot fit on my PC, but you have to wonder what the fuck are they doing on the software side of things, I liked Starfield, but the only real game coming out soon is Indiana Jones which I don't give a fuck about,and Avowed which is caught up with a DEI controversy due to a Self-Hating White Man Art Lead

Avatars were gay and stupid as fuck. It was the moment Microsoft stopped giving a fuck about proper gamers and started chasing the normie, faggots and normiefaggots.

There's a direct corralation between the drop in quality and quantity of MS games on the 360 and the increase is fag shit like avatars, cosmetics, kinect and gay as fuck E3 shows featuring kids, faggots and nigger rappers.

Yes, I am still bitter that my fun hobby was ruined by overly sensitive whores and aids-riddled faggots.

For curiosity, I researched the concept of Xbox's Avatar creation. Rare and MS envisioned Xbox Live with the 360 as one identity for the player's experience. Hence the gamertag being your ONE Xbox Live screen name. I loved Avatars on the 360. It was quirky, personal and presentable.

Tragic what has happened to Xbox. Before they made good games. Now? They can't even compete with dei ridden Sony and are doing worse than the Wii U while Phil Spencer is being hailed as some sort of Messiah when in reality he's a doofus that couldn't even see the value in Baldur's Gate 3 when even Google saw it. Sad

They also can't even make hardware nor support older systems anymore. And third party companies are slowly (rapidly?) abandoning them as well. They could easily corner the market in physical games by being the only console where everything is available on disc including Xbox and 360 era games being reprinted. Going the exact opposite of Game Pass, where instead of streaming games and owning nothing, you purchase physical games and own everything.

The coping and astroturfing from Microsoft employees is like someone protecting Enron or Bernie Madoff. "Wait until you see Microsoft's next move....they are going to shock the world with a handheld Xbox". They abysmal sales figures of newer Xbox units this holiday season in an honest world would get the entire Microsoft Gaming leadership fired on the spot.

They basically killed Xbox live when they changed xbox live enforcement's priorities from banning actual cheaters and bad actors to attacking their long term userbase like a militant reddit bot with their overly aggressive automation.

Don't know how a simple "hell yeah" reply to a friend warrants a 2 week comm ban with all the snarky "gotcha" reddit commentors coming out to the xbox support forum when you'd attempt to appeal it, but my wallet sure thanked me for not supporting their evil bullshit anymore after that.
