Don't have the time atm to watch the archived video, but Mutahar was only talking about Nux, right? It was mostly confined to Nux and their business relationship. A loli hentai was mentioned and did play a part, but really that wasn't the main point of the video. The issue isn't so much that they're fanfiction, but that they ape bad forms of storytelling -- basically Dragon Quest and derivative RPGs. They're also self-insert stories and thinly-veiled porn, which is almost always brimstone. I've read some excellent fanfiction and fanfiction-like stories, and the things they've all had in common are that the source material is good (or at least has squandered gem potential) and that they aren't about self-insertion. Good fanfiction is stuff that you get immersed in because it presents an extremely interesting and rich world, not because the protagonist is literally you. LN trash and manga are the modern equivalent of pulp stories written for a penny a word, so they make zero effort and just care about getting bumped in the algorithm (which is why they all have those long titles).
For instance, in January a rare space isekai LN adaptation is coming out. When I read the premise, I immediately assumed the robots would be these really powerful cross-dimensional machines and that it would lead up to crazy universe-ending/birthing powerlevels and the MC would have been manipulated throughout the whole thing into helping the villains execute their terrible plans, but apparently it's just the MC winning every battle because his enemies are too incompetent and he gets surrounded with a bunch of icky gurrls for no reason whatsoever. Somehow an idea I came up with in 5 minutes is better than something someone has spent years working on; that's how low-quality this all is.
