There's a new MMA organisation called the GFL. On his podcast, Brendan decided to take time to shit on the GFL and saying it'll have to use gimmicks and will fail in three years after burning money. He also used bizarre analogies including "However you want to paint this fucking zebra, it's still an older zebra." All in all, Brendan did not have a positive view on the GFL.

However, hilarity ensued a few days later it was announced Brendan was joining the GFL as a panelist after talking shit on it and saying how it lacks quality and it'll fail. Brendan will be joining a host of MMA has been commentators and unknowns like Mike Goldberg and Robin Black. Coincidentally after being given the job, Brendan changed his views that the GFL being a flop to a more positive view of the company.

Brendan then uses the TFATK podcast to hamfist some positive spin about the GFL where he tells Bryan how he is now "Cumtatin' " for the GFL.

In an interview with the GFL, Brendan gets spooked when people joke around with his relationship with the internet and the TFATK subreddit.

During the panel, Brendan couldn't help but break out the comedy skills and awkwardly shove in his unrelated anti electric car opinion. Because... remember how he was a car guy?

Following from this, Brendan just had the GFL co-founder on his TFATK podcast and it was just awkward to watch.
After the Fight Companion episode where Rogan and Co. spoke about GFL and couldn't buy into the idea of it, Brendan decided to have Darren Owen (the co-founder of the GFL) come onto the TFATK podcast to promote it and try and make it sound more appealing. Did it work?
Nope. Not at all.
Literally seconds into the episode and Brendan is digging into Bryan Callen and saying he had some initial pushback on the idea of GFL and it was Brendan who bought him into it:
So we're going to completely ignore that Brendan was the one who initially mocked the idea of it before he was paid into loving it? Literally seconds into the show and you can already tell how butthurt Brendan was for getting mocked about GFL.
Then you have Bryan trying to promote the appeal of the GFL while blatantly not being sold on the idea of aging fighters:
There's also a bunch of talk from Brendan about how other companies have never made it to the UFC level and how the GFL is different and new and not been done before. Thing is, he name drops the
IFL as an example of a failed MMA venture... which literally had the same premise that the GFL has:
Brendan kept repeatedly treating the episode like a sales pitch to Bryan, and he kept doing this thing where he'd hype up some appeal of the GFL like a shitty car salesman wingman and then he'd pass it off to the co-founder to explain the details. At one point he's trying to sell some storyline shit and you can see the co-founder looking visibly uncomfortable from it all:
At one point the co-founder is talking about doing press interviews with some of the female fighters and they bring up their pictures of them, and Bryan is talking about how hot they are while the co-founder is trying to be professional and get it back on track. Brendan does this weirdly funny thing where he's looking over at Bryan and he's like "yeah, you like that B?" like some sleazy pimp:
A portion of the episode was them looking up random shit online, and at one point the co-founder mentions the GFL has an official theme that was AI generated. They try and find it but the PC was crashing, and it led to them sitting with dead air for like 30 seconds waiting for the PC to work. Professional podcasters.
There's some retarded story about Cardi B calling out Trump for some boring shit, and the co-founder just sits there looking bored and uninterested the whole time:
They keep showing dumb shit, but at one point Bryan is whispering to the co-founder saying he doesn't even know what they're talking about and how this show was a disaster, and the co-founder saying "is this what your career has come to?":
It could be interpreted as just them joking around, but look at Brendan who is so visibly irritated that they're messing around during his big sales pitch episode. Even with his own boss on the show he's being left out and ignored.
There's a
good video that covers some other inconsistencies, like how a week or so prior to this episode they were discussing how MMA legend Tony Ferguson should retire after losing 8 fights in a row and he's probably got brain damage and can't even think straight, but in this episode they're boasting about how great of a fight it'll be when he's in the GFL.
