To be fair to Devin (his advice, not his business practices), he's right that law school is all studying so that you can write a good essay. That's the legal profession in a nutshell. He is also correct that you won't make back your investment on law school if you get bad grades. Top corporate firms hire the best and everyone else either gets stuck doing law they don't like, or end up in a smaller firm making not so much money. Or, they end up working for the state, which is grindy and doesn't pay as much.
Devin's actual career isn't bad. Akin Gump is a major firm, but he only ever made it to Associate, which is pretty low on the totem pole. Serious lawyers work 10-15 years to make Partner and rake in the big money - I'm talking millions over the course of years.
It seems that Devin just wants to be a celebrity lawyer more than anything else, like a Dominic Barbara type. Which will he his future if he keeps being retarded, and means oodles of content.
