I really like matcha tea made with milk (where it has like a creamy consistency), peppermint tea, and recently I bought a tin of lavender and chamomile tea that's really, really good! Especially before bed.
 
I like citrus teas, such as Bigelow Lemon Lift and Constant Comment.
 
Lately I've been hooked on hibiscus tea. It's pretty sour, but at the same time it's pretty good which makes it tolerable.
My all-time favourite has to be chai tea though.
Also I realize that I'm spamming up the forums and I'm not sorry
 
A lot of teas taste similar if not identical to me. Maybe something's wrong with my palate. *sigh*

Literally looking into a tea tasting session to get a better appreciation for the stuff.

Perhaps try teas that vary greatly in flavor. For example, you can try to develop your palate by focusing on the contrasts in flavors, like a red/rooibos tea against a straight black tea. Also, buying a higher quality tea can make the differences in taste a bit more obvious. A good black should hardly ever taste like a good green. You could also try to experiment with steeping times.
 
I like adding honey to teas. I like experimenting with different types of honeys. Barley honey adds a malty flavor to the tea. White honey is a nice subtle sweetness. Jams are pretty good in teas too.
 
I'm not a tea person at all, but it sounds like I should try Lapsang.
I usually default to earl grey hot, because I'm a star trek sperg.
People in the lolita community love tea, so I often end up at tea houses ordering something strange like a cocktail or coffee or something.

Maybe it's just the brand I bought, but rooibos tastes like straight up turpentine with a cancerous aftertaste to me. Is it supposed to be so strong? It's a bit offputting, tbh.

I think I may be sensitive to tannins though, so that might be part of the problem.
You're not alone. I like myself a good cup of rooibos from time to time (the smell is heaven, tbh), but it can taste like boiled dick.

Personally, I'm partial to a good cup of Irish Breakfast or Oolong. I'd love to try barley tea sometime, though.

How hot is your water? This is really crucial. Most people boil their water, which is too hot and burns the tea. When it's burnt, the tannins are harsh and rough. Check the proper temperature for your tea, and use a thermometer if you have to. It takes practice to listen to how hot a kettle is.

The last time I made it, which was over a year ago, I had my electric kettle which only had one setting-- boil. I'm assuming that's probably too hot for most teas really, but overall it gave pretty decent results for mostly everything I made. I don't have a kettle now but I want to try rooibos again since I still have like a bazillion teabags that I need to use up.

I'm gonna force myself to like it one way or another :mad:
