I was specifically bringing attention to something by doing that:

LFG is a fucking terrible person even if you completely discount the gender shit. You can literally completely shelve it and you could deconstruct whatever fuckery is going in that mind for pages based on the inherently abusive behavior they exhibit just based on relatively recent actions alone.

You shouldn't shelve it completely, because a good chunk of LFG's online persona is using gender identity as a weapon, and actively using failure to pass as part of Elliot's own inherent need to gain power over people, which seems to be this particular cow's raison d'etre.

But the fact that you can ignore it and still walk away with a keen fucking understanding of what a shit person LFG is speaks volumes.

My stomach drops when I'm reminded of good people who pass too soon, while evil fucks like Erriot get to live. A sliver of consolation is that he lives in abject misery and pain everyday, which will only get worse as he ages.

tl;dr: If you can find a decent lawyer, and have anything approaching a case, always do this unless its very clear you have no leg to stand on, or unless they give you a good package out the door and you just want to move on with your life. Especially for big boys like Meta or other FAANG. Even if they are free of discrimination the cost, difficulty, and potential of finding other secrets during e-discovery will see you get 6 figures just to make you go away if it looks like better than even odds a judge will order edisovery.

I do not recommend doing what my friend did in this story because of the time and expense involved for often limited upside, but I had a friend who didn't sign a severance agreement because he was like 5 weeks from his workiversary, he intended to fight and get his extra two weeks pay so he told them he wouldn't sign it. He was called up that evening, and asked to come back to the company for a meeting next week where they offered him his previous settlement plus another 6-months pay + cobra if he would sign the thing that day.*
Per someone he was still friends with who had a line to HR, they were getting ready to sell the company so didn't want to have lawsuits on the books, and there were at least a couple employees in those laid off who had solid-if-not-slam-dunk discrimination cases (age-related) if a lawyer did the right sort of digging so they told HR "we don't care who it is, if they don't sign call them back and offer them an extra 6 months pay."


* You aren't allowed to do this, exactly. They have to give you time to review documents. So what they did was ask him why he didn't sign his previous agreement and then asked if they tacked on 6 months pay if he would sign that before he went home. When he said yes, they asked if he'd wait 30 minutes and came back with the updated agreement
