SS13's modern-day administration is chosen based on the amount of time spent playing. Those who spend the most time on a server are lifeless weirdos who aren't responsible or competent enough to have a "life/SS13" balance, so they play SS13 24/7 and pose detrimental threats to the game's health by being incompetent.

Saviour Horse (Lance) was an admin. GreenTea posted diaper cub in one of Splurt's many NSFW sections. Saviour Horse banned GreenTea.
Mosley (a Nazi-Fur admin (owner?)) re-added and protected GreenTea.
Disillusioned, Saviour Horse lamented being overruled and left or was forcefully ousted shortly after having almost caused a schism within the server.

Splurt came to add antags to compete with the growing popularity of BubberStation. Splurt could not subsist on hamfisted admin events as a substitute for an actual system for antags. Despite that, the events and antags disturbed the pre-existing group of people who were mainly interested in long-form ERP and ic-drama/socialization without the game part of SS13 interrupting them, pushing them off onto the populated, refined, and developed BubberStation. Splurt's down to cliques and randoms. Bubber's flavor of the month. Both are different flavors of hedonistic cesspits suspended in space.

I played the playtest, it was okay but it was pretty clear they just added the tilecode they made and that was it. Lemme tell you that did not play well with the wheelchair code at all, my poor crippled ass somehow both lagged the server to hell and broke the tile-movement so that it moved in half-tiles. I'd say once the head coder gets his head out of his ass and picks a codebase they have a decent amount of people to actually get shit done.

They killed themselves the way every other server did, long before any AI spam. Slow decline into degeneracy as said degenerates started coding/mapping/administrating, like PJB, into over-administrating all the fun out of the game until nothing was left to play and the non-insane parts of the community left. The AI spammer is a symptom, not a cause.
Some names, absolutely non-exhaustive:

• Pomf123!!PtLB3ymuDuE (powerword ##pomfisdabes), the permanent host himself has become a pokephile who LARPs as a sylveon and regularly posts "ferals" in discord similarly to PJB, in addition to occasionally threatening suicide and taking the server down
• NigglyWiggly, a primordial faggot who imported femboy fetishism from every early on
• VelardAmakar was an openly gay furry known for mapping several large maps
• Drawsstuff was a tranny who drew fetish art for the general
• Grimlock, another tranny only notable for posting inflation fetish porn in their discord

Their perversions:

• Constant head admin drama
• Vox porn
• A shift away from IRC to Discord, with all the expected problems
• "waifu" and "husbando" lists being posted in their threads of regular in-game characters

They had problems with porn-posting even as far back as 2015, where some – then near underage – guy got revealed to be socking under multiple BYOND accounts (evenspeedwagon, banisher66, thranos, ss13writefag) and obsessively complaining about himself in the /vg/ thread while drawing porn. But back then, they had the spirit to oppose this kind of faggotry, doxxed googled him and ran him out:

/vg/station isn't very special; they were the fifth or so 4chan-related server to fall. I believe – and I am likely wrong – the lineage of servers went roughly /tg/station > /v/station (2011~) > N3X15' server/Velyks' server' > /vg/station > d20station.
/vg/statin's most notable quality is that, unlike most other servers, all their round logs are publicly available all the way from 2013 until now (which I won't be posting here, it's ~6GB worth and Null doesn't need circumstantial spessman ERP text logs). This transparency didn't at all help with maintaining a some kind of good level of administration: it also became over-administrated like most other servers, making in-game security practically worthless while admins policed all gameplay, including "escalation" – needing to steadily move up a rung of measured response in response to someone fucking with you as non-antagonist instead of just caving th annoying nigger's skull in – and "valids" – term for when someone, anyone killing another is acceptable according to some nebulous meta rules. By now, you can go through their publically available admin list (A) or through a few regulars' names and find a notable amount who have since trooned out, PJB included.

This received an exclusively positive reaction as no chud wants to get banned for pluralphobia. They went from zero (0) plural systems in 2023 to, a little over a year later, 10+ across the English server admins and coders. This isn't really notable as an individual event but rather illustrative of the latest retard social contagion. Remember the project also went from like 15% to 70%+ trans in upper echelons within 3 years.

As for the regular admins its pretty wild that even the worst admins don't get tossed out until they leave. You'll find miles of posts bitching about specific admins and then you'll find that they left voluntarily because IRL at the end.

I hop on there from time to time and playing there feels just as much of a blast as it always used to be. You can literally forget about the existence of the OOC stuff like shitcord and /vm/ thread and just enjoy the classic SS13 experience that gets ~20-40 people a day depending on what day it is. Like @Jotch once said, that server stood up the best to the tranny menace.

So yeah, I disagree with all the "/vg/ is dead!!1" claims because the game server is doing okay and it's literally the only thing that matters.

I have played on Goon, TG, and /vg/ and became very well integrated in their communities.
I learned two critical things from this exposure that I never learned in my childhood:
1. Troons and other sexual degenerates are generally mentally unstable and are the worst to have in charge over you and should be avoided. You cannot tolerate their presence in your communities.
2. Remember to say "Nigger" to test the quality of a communty.
