I hope I'm wrong but I think there's a very high chance another event like this happens again, since groidcell seemed to know about the Samantha Rupnow shooting beforehand and the feds didn't do anything, it's likely the feds will do the same this time and not arrest any of his associates especially as evidence already has suggested other people had access to his account (following people back after the shooting already occurred.) This shooting was entirely preventable if law enforcement acted within the 6 week time frame they were given to arrest suspects involved with Samantha.

My friend just put together a gaming PC composed of some spare parts we had laying around for a friend who wanted a gaming PC for his kid. I think the kid is like 10 or some shit. We put together a pretty sick setup for free: a 2080 RTX, 32 GB of RAM and I even threw in an old ultrawide screen I had sitting around.

I asked the kid "so what type of games do you play?" and he answered with the typical stuff like Minecraft, Roblox and a few others - it was hard to not take his dad aside for a minute and truthbomb him right then and there and be like "yeah you might want to actually keep an eye on the shit he does online". I only just recently mentioned cautioning some relatives about how depraved Roblox is: https://kiwifarms.st/threads/ruben-sim-derangement-syndrome.190588/post-20354871 and how sad and depressing it was to me that kids nowadays simply can't get "normal" internet access like back in the day - they either get unfettered access via tablets and end up in fucked up social circles or get groomed (or maybe they don't) or they have to have parents who act like Hitler when it comes to what they can and cannot access.

I think the biggest warning I'm going to start giving parents is not just about Roblox but about Discord in particular since it seems to be central to this kind of absolute depravity - Roblox and some games have enough problems but Discord seems to be an absolute hotbed of insanity which is also sad because its technically just a chat program. I sure as fuck saw weird shit on IRC and the internet when I was a kid but nothing like the kind of shit that kids can stumble into nowadays.

I don't know what solves this. Whether regulation is going to be inevitable or whether major companies like Discord are starting to actually get serious flack over this shit. Maybe Discord should require KYC for creating servers or maybe they should hire actual moderators - it seems like they really don't give a fuck. Besides the obvious solution of parents actually parenting, tons of kids have shit parents and a shitty home life but even in the case of a kid who is a bit shy/quiet like I was as a kid and spends a lot of time on their computer because they enjoy it - how is a parent to fully know what kind of shit they could end up stumbling into and what kind of shit it can lead to if they get onto the wrong side of shit at a young age.

Sad, Sad for the people that this kid killed/injured. Sad for the people traumatized by this at the school. Sad for the parents/family (I don't know whether they were good or not). Sad that this kid ended up in such a fucked up online cesspit in the first place.

Is the internet fully integrated with daily life? Or is Microsoft, Facebook, and socia media integrated with daily life? It sounds like splitting hairs, but I think it's the root issue. People can't understand what they don't know, and 90% of Americans don't even know what the fuck /pol/ is. When they celebrate banning porn, they really think they're getting to the source - they really think kids can't then easily access it anymore without hacking or something.

Short of hacking your 17 year olds browser history and scrolling splinter sites yourself, these parents really have no idea. Like none at all. A gift and a curse is that I was given unregulated access to the internet since I was 14. I don't think I could even protect a child if I didn't have that prior experience...all I would tell them is don't use your full name and picture online. well it's likely that they both have their cliques on xitter that have some overlap (either when the men see the femcels and go based waow egirl sexy I wanna fuck awooga or when the foids seek male attention and try to appeal to them, I have seen femcel accounts soyjak post before) especially since soyteens use xitter more than their site now but that's just a guess, either way it seems these people all seem to share the same misanthropy and edgy "humour" so it doesn't seem too surprising to me, what was the surprising part for me is the feds not acting on this information but it isn't so surprising anymore because it just keeps happening.

I went to high school with multiple guys like this, they identified as being highly intelligent, while being not that smart or clever. They just read a lot of shit online and their personality was just the online content they consumed. They were also some mix of being fucking clueless, rude, or bullies in their own right while identifying as being bullied themselves. One guy had a hit list in his locker senior year and they still let him walk at graduation with a security guard. He looked down and talked down to anyone who didn't know more than him and, of course, he knew more than everyone else. He had one friend who would regularly admonish him to stop being such a freak.

Another was a freshman that acted the same way. I was on a sports team with him as a varsity athlete. Before a match where we were all preparing he kept trying to tell "kitten killing" jokes in front of the girls team and trying to find out how much we all masturbated. I had to grab him by his collar and scream in his face to shut the fuck up and focus because literally repeatedly telling him that in a normal way didn't work. He always talked back, had to be the center of attention, and refused to conform to any sort of group culture or dynamic while regularly being genuinely unpleasant to have around. So we bullied him. If he stopped being a fucking creep we would have stopped and accepted him. I mean he wasn't even good or would try, he was genuinely the worst person on the team and we had a kid with down syndrome. And the down syndrome kid actually listened when we told him to literally not chase the girls and could make us laugh without being a creep. They were our teammates and we genuinely wanted them to succeed with us. That dude ended up getting a bunch of runes tattoos all over his body after HS and then sexually assaulted a woman he was working with at Dunkin Donuts. I'm sure everyone but him is at fault for him assaulting her.

Anyways, this shooter also identifies as being bullied later in the doc. And yeah, look at the doc, he should be. The conclusion I'm coming to is that guys like these NEED to be disciplined by their peers if their family isn't going to do it. You can say it's not your job to disciple these people, and I get that, but it's better than the them showing up to school with an automatic one day. Convincing them to kill themselves would also be appropriate in this case. Needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few and all that.
