Yeah, no doubt you've been fucked hard. For me it could be much worse and those bureaus prevent it from being worse for me. For example, FDIC insures that if my bank goes under, I am still okay. Does Elon Musk have a clearance? There's a rumor on Facebook that he has a top secret clearance. I've been following this thread for a bit and I didn't see it stated.

According to the NYT [archive], he had a top clearance in December. SpaceX security covered up his meetings with foreign leaders and drug use until people started complaining to the inspector general. Musk reacted by calling them deep state traitors on X. The DoD Inspector General, the Air Force, and the Undersecretary for Defense (Intelligence and Security) had all initiated reviews of his clearance, and the Air Force denied him access to a special access program, but that was all pre-Trump.



In January, Trump signed an executive order [archive] giving unnamed persons interim TS/SCI clearances. Presumably, Musk is one of them.
