Elon tends to put people smarter than onto vague objectives, meaning that I think his squad were at least smart enough to not touch that website with a ten foot pole. The website itself was released in a rushed, unfinished state with features missing - probably at Musk's insistence -and not even hosted on government servers, which is why it was so easy to hack. His team of zoomers are more likely to be collaborating over Discord or Telegram than work on an unfinished blog. I think the website's ultimate purpose is just to show off cut expenditures in a showy, transparent sort of way. If they were uploading classified data to sort through directly to it then that'd just be too retarded.

Did you miss the transition when Peter started ranting? They instantly went from clueless, harmless seeming, to sharks collecting information for the management downsizing phase.
It was an excellent writing touch, adding in an acknowledgement of the reality of a corporate slash, and burn. The Bobs were sociopaths, as established with their 'fixed the glitch' scene about Milton.

To end the tortured analogy, Elon/DOGE is the Bobs, but I think we're discounting the sheer processing power, the tech billionaires directly control, and why Orange Man bribed them with the AI thing. These people spent the last few years modeling the entire system, with all the data they could collect, and buy.

Akin to Obama successfully using social media outreach to win, this(at least to me) looks like another first. The large scale use of data capabilities to hack the Federal government, using established laws everybody forgot.

It's all very concerning.

I don't think a whole lot of people are regretting their vote, but I bet a few people might be regretting submitting job applications to Musk's gay wordpress site.

Honestly, the fact you missed that angle for another half-baked political dunk shows the thread has a problem. Musk is 100% a lolcow, but this thread is pretty shitted out with politics. His gov role isn't always lolcow shit; debating the CFPB certainly isn't lolcow shit. If he short-sightedly hollows out important agencies at the behest of voters and his political superiors while securing graft of public money for his companies, that's not lolcow shit either, the American public is the lolcow in that interaction.

Given how Russia-Ukraine went, I'm not saying you all just need to take it to politics general, but maybe we need a 2nd one for people who generally don't like Trump. It's about half the country after all.

Edit: We also need a thread for Null to argue with lefties; he's clearly got some unresolved stuff from his Olbermann-watching past he needs to hash out.

I honestly think all these Techbros like Musk are just propping up and using Trump on their way to turn the US into what is basically a corporation, basically any cyberpunk dystopia you ever heard of. I believe it's honestly not about Trump. He's just a tool for them. An item they used to get in. It's people like Musk, Yarvin and Thiel who are outspoken enemies of democracy (together with their emo lapdog Vance) you should be very wary of as an american who believes in democracy. These are the dangerous people and they're also the difference you're seeing between Trumps first term and Trumps second term.

It's quite funny in an ironic way that the same people who got the vapors over silicon valley degenerates trying to dictate their life became useful idiots to a different bunch of silicon valley degenerates trying to dictate their life. It'd be funny if it wasn't so threatening by the sheer fact of how much power these (very few) people wield to at least sow a lot of chaos.

But maybe the "eldery obese conman" (copyright HHH) is out-conning them all. We can only hope.
