It was really bad. I don't mind channels just having a different opinion or their authors being pro-Ukrainian, but it's just that several of them just decided to go all-in and make all their content about a completely unobjective pro-Ukrainian narrative which, in hindsight, demonstrably was all rubbish. A name I've seen floated is Viktor Medvedchuk, the old opposition leader that they imprisoned and IIRC later handed over to Russia in a prison swap. I think that's more likely.
I agree actually, I was just trying to be conservative with my numbers. My actual guess would be something around a million Ukrainians, and less than 200k Russians, give or take 100k.
Nord Stream II is a pipe in the ocean, it wouldn't be viewed in the same way as a terrorist attack in a Western capital city, and I don't think that there remains enough public sympathy for the 'poor Ukrainians dindu nothing wrong' spin to work. The 'Russian false flag' spin would be more likely to be believed, but would also have much more dire repercussions, and would only be used to justify direct involvement, which Western politicians currently don't seem to be keen on.
