The name of the album that song is from is called "committed to a bit" which is a pretty on-the-nose description of the transgender/nonbinary stuff. Like it started off as a joke- still is a joke- but now it's too late to back down on it, you're committed, you can't go back, even if in retrospect it was a stupid idea.

As a person who lives in the southwest Jewsh saying we could give New Mexico and southern california to Mexico personally offends me. Thats like saying we could "just" give Maine and New England to Canada because its basically Canada anyway.
