Hit the nail on the head with why "the chart says" should have died last decade. The hacks behind this crap probably browse or ask the interns from colleges, "you there! What's trending on that darn ticking tocker?" They get a cursory response of the latest flavor of the month influencer, a compilation of 90s/y2k nostalgia photos set to aquatic ambience, and celebrity gossip so they scramble to cobble together what they think can make money.
It's frankly not much different that what hollowoo thinks ai will replace them with. Only ai can process a spit out modern script faster than a team of writers.
