His fans are even worse than the people he makes fun of. Also, this dude as a kid probably watched the 4Kids version so already we have our first lie.
 
Most of Snob's points -- about anime, about the fans, about e-celebs -- are correct. I do sympathize with him for getting yelled at for stating these uncomfortable truths, for having high standards, and for being frustrated with the state of the weeb community. People like him are getting driven out of anime by both the content and the community because it's not as profitable to make a solid, well-written sci-fi/fantasy story as it is to make 12 episode bombs that will sell well anyway since otaku will buy their waifu merchandise, and the pedophiles who support this business model don't like it when they're called out. Seriously, I saw someone recently waste $40 on TWO ACRYLIC STANDS -- things you could make yourself -- of their favorite characters, not to mention that calling out the FOTM as something everyone will hate when the manga is over REALLY makes people mad. In his Digibro debate he wasn't allowed to get a word in edgewise in case he said something that Digi didn't like. Sadly, he neglected the opportunity to talk about how Digi liking anime he relates to most is a sign of self-insertion and being stunted, but whatever.
At the same time, though, this is a guy who rates hentai higher than solid sci-fi anime (gooner who cares about waifus), not to mention that he's a NEET (stunted manchild with zero contributions to his community). I hold nothing but contempt for most of the things he hates, but I don't obsessively hate-watch those anime or those e-celebs. He's still in the throes of the otaku lifestyle and anime he criticizes so much, and doing that reluctantly for an unprofitable Patreon grift is no better than doing that for "enjoyment". The anime community will only get worse and worse, and things will only change as a result of governmental and societal pressure, not from what other weebs say. The best revenge is living well, and Snob definitely isn't living well.

Honestly, I wouldn’t have a problem with Snob if he wasn’t also annoying. I know he’s much older than some Zoomer anime fans, but the dude is, first off, a troll—one who argues with “facts over feelings.” And doing that for three decades can get so tiresome.

It’s like that one guy who claims he couldn’t watch One Piece as a kid because it was 100 to 200 episodes long—meanwhile, he probably watched Dragon Ball without seeing the irony of his own comment. Plus, he could have watched the 4Kids dub, which cut out even more episodes than the original. So something definitely got lost in translation.
