With Hollywood, I think it's also a sunk costs thing. Maybe they do learn the right lessons but it's too late to apply them by the time they set in. Like say, learning that DEI pandering probably isn't good when you already have five years of backed up films on rotation to release. Or learning that making a new Star Wars film every single year will probably cause franchise fatigue right after you've already burned your way through five films and had the first flop in your franchise. Or learning that maybe letting Harvey Weinstein rub his grease over the entire industry might end up being one of the most humiliating scandals in entertainment history, just as the bombshell report hits the headlines.
