I watch gaming and niche figure review channels, witht he occasional how to vid. I'm so sick of YouTube's crap. So recently I have been thinking about which videos I watched that were archived from other sources or not, for example, archived on CD, DVD, DVR, etc. Luckily for me, that's a ton of content, but it's still missing lots of user-created content. Does anyone want to help me make a list of every good YouTuber to archive? I have found this thread listing most political YouTubers, but I haven't found one listing every YouTuber for every genre.

What I still don't get is how me not being logged in helps protecting their community... how? I can't even interact with the community.
Thankfully, VPNs still work on FreeTube. Fingers crossed (I don't have too much hope for the future)

It worked this morning for me. Sad it broke after lunch. playing vids in mpv works. But that uses yt-dlp.
I feel vindicated in archiving my favorite videos and channels.

I only watch shit about metal, how to, cars and videogames. Oh and a few sort of niche interest stuff, like explorers and the like. I have no political shit at all on. Yet when I can see the sidebar, its just endless "Trump was outplayed by Canada!". Not even an American, so its of no interest to me at all.
For all the "targeting needs your data" all it seems to do is shove the same rubbish at you over and over again anyway.

Can confirm.
GrayJay isn't 100% perfect, but for me it's been the most consistently reliable option since Mohan started his jihad against ad blockers. I was more than happy for FUTO to shut up and take my money, even though one can use GrayJay forever without paying... but I'd rather pay for the produce than be the product.

Not only is that an extra layer of faggotry on top of the VPN/proxy blocking experimentation, but it's jewgles captcha system to boot which is one of the most cancerous captcha checks there is. I am 100% convinced recaptcha is built to purposely fail you at least once an attempt if you're on an IP detected to be part of a VPN/proxy subnet, and they additionally nearly always force you to the "one picture, multiple tile selection" ones which are aids, over the "9 images, select which ones have blah" ones that are far less retarded

IMO everyone needs to use this as another pretty clear reminder to archive everything you actually give a shit about off jewtube with yt-dlp as soon as you can, if you haven't already

They've been going hard on IP blocking too for downloading too many videos. After, say, 5 or 10 videos my yt-dlp will give me "sign in to confirm you're not a bot" and I have to play whack-a-mole with VPNs until it'll let me download 5 or 10 more...then jewgle blocks my IP again...and round and round we go. My burner account was inevitably blocked from downloading with a vague "video unavailable" error too.I hate the modern Internet so much it's unreal bros
Does anyone have any advice for trying to download entire channels? I can no longer successfully do this because eventually the bot detector thing will trip in the middle of downloading everything, with or without a valid po-token generated from a logged out legit browser.
I can still skirt past to download individual videos here or there but it's difficult to download an entire channel with hundreds of videos because it must be automated and run on its own for a while realistically. And in the middle of processing all the videos, inevitably, at least some of them will get blocked from downloading, usually cascading into a blanket block that stops all downloading for a while.
