Given a number of recent events on our glorious webzone which shall not be named, I have reason to fear that we are slipping away from the correct and just belief that anime is aesthetically repugnant garbage that makes you stupid. This thread is a place for airing your grievances regarding anime, Vtubers, and their associated culture.

To be crystal clear, this is not an Anime Reform Thread or an Anime Grieving Thread. The medium has been fundamentally unreformable ever since Godfather of Manga Osamu Tezuka cranked out Astro Boy in between drawing erotic zines of women transforming into mice and then inserted his fetish into cartoons for children. Anime has been informed by porn since Day One and to pretend otherwise is willful retardation; if you come in here to defend your favourite flavour of oriental pig slop, I will personally kick your arse all the way to Live Talent.

This thread IS, however, for addressing the real questions such as:



Why do weebs and VTuber guys insist on spreading their nonsense into places where it is not wanted or asked for? Is there a malevolent Konata-shaped tumour in their brains that compels them to spam tranime gifs in otherwise civil group chats and put Evangelion wraps on their '96 Skyline GT-Rs? Is the fact that I've had to tolerate multiple group project presentations from people with a busty anime waifu as their desktop wallpaper an indictment of human society?

Why do girls in anime wear skimpy clothes and make rodent whimpering noises whenever they do anything for any reason? That's not how Japanese people talk, right? Is it supposed to be endearing? Do anime-affected people hear this and not immediately wish to stick their entire head in an industrial blender?



Are they ever going to find the One Piece? Do human beings exist who have watched all of these episodes? What are they like?

This thread does have a practical reason to exist for the sole reason that the existing Anime/Manga thread is for people who enjoy them. A dedicated thread for people to criticize anime/manga as an industry and express legitimate grievances with the medium above "lel anime bad" is necessary. Weeaboo retards who live and breathe japanese cartoons have multiple threads for their hobby, we can have one for criticizing it

I find with most anime or manga, the writing tends to be horrifically bad. Even old series. Anime movies that are not based on ongoing TV series or manga are written better because it's a one and done production. Most series are not written with the intent to write a good story, but rather to pad out the length as long as possible and only "end" when the law of diminishing returns kicks in. That's why they never end. The absolute worst examples of this are shonen manga, specifically One Piece, Hunter x Hunter, and Hajime no Ippo. Even Berserk is still going on despite the author dying. Golgo 13 which began in 1968 is still going on with a committee continuing to shit out new chapters. If it makes money, it will continue. Do you really think the author of One Piece is going to retire his cash cow when it's one of the highest grossing in the world? When he dies, AI or a committee will take over to make sure it continues forever. I recall he once asked ChatGPT to create a new chapter of One Piece, but I don't think he used it. If he is using AI now for any part of the actual production process, then that also ruins one of One Piece's few redeeming qualities, which is that it's all handmade and one guy's vision (supposedly). Okay, so most shonens are shit. What else is there?

You have "seinen" which is just the more mature version of shonen, but sometimes they are more grounded in reality and have better stories. But many of them also devolve into complete shit (see: Berserk, JoJo, Black Lagoon) and ALSO never end.

Mecha are a little better for some reason, maybe due to the fact that 99% of them are toy commercials and no one is going to want to buy the little toys forever. This is another unfortunate reality of this industry: everything is dominated by old corporate faggots who decide that nothing gets made unless they approve it, and they will only do so if it's as formulaic as possible because that's what makes them money.

I am convinced that the horrible writing is a cultural issue with them because no other entertainment medium from any other country has this problem. It is solely anime and manga that do. They are unable to craft a well written story that can be digested in a modest amount of time and the ones that do usually flop or fail (case in point: when Cowboy Bebop was initially cancelled)

Also, most studios now default to using shitty 3D CGI and AI for everything so you don't even get the possibility of decent animation. Of course otaku retards sit with their mouths agape in awe and amazement and the suits know it, and they also know that legions of autistic retards in the west are doing so too. Pretty much everything past mid-2010s is utter shit and horribly animated. No exceptions.

Oh yeah, and the sheer retardation of weeaboos and how they like the taste of shit never ceases to amaze. The anime for One Piece that started in the 90s is still going on, yet Netflix announced a fucking REMAKE anime that will start from the BEGINNING. Cue mobs of fanboys creaming their Depends. You just know these suits view them with utter contempt because they know these idiots will lap up anything they shit out. It even follows the stupid modern trend of adding "The" at the beginning of the title. Just sheer apathy and laziness and it makes me cringe knowing there's retards out there that actually like that.
