They got weaponlight armor now, Dark Matter Concepts CMD. Not as stupid as it looks, apparently does a good job of keeping carbon off the lense. They make them primarily for rifle lights and the X300 model is a prototype

Something I recently had an issue with, seems pretty smart although I'm not sure if it's just ribbed for the gun's pleasure or if it will divert the carbon away better.

I'm seriously thinking of getting the new Vector SBR Gen 3 now that ATF wait times are reasonable, and since I won't be able to get a new Wildey. It's less expensive than the TP9 Pro, easier to mount a suppressor, takes GLOCK mags in whichever caliber it's chambered for, and will accept a wider variety of optics and accessories compared to the TP9 Pro. Sure, it's not as super secret squirrel sleek and sexy as the TP9, but I'll be able to afford to do more things with it, I won't need a proprietary suppressor for it, and I think it has more presence than the TP9 Pro.

It's mostly going to be a range toy. I think they're pretty neat, and I like that they aren't just another direct blowback like the vast majority of PCCs/SMG style guns. I also like that they aren't just a derivative of a rifle caliber design, like all the AR9s being based off the AR15, or looking like a shrunk down SCAR like the B&T APC. The Vector is uniquely it's own thing, and that gives me the fizz. It would be awesome if they could beef the Vector up just a bit to handle 7.5fk and come up with reliable mags of comparable capacity to the other Vectors.

I know what you mean. I seriously considered one back when they were a bit less money. It seems as if one could get a Marlin in .45-70 with some handloads that wouldn't be too far behind a BHA in .500 S&W, and for a whole lot less. I could be wrong.

if i had a customer looking to drop money on a do it all AR-15 for under $1k all accessories and half a case of ammo, i wouldn't feel bad selling them an M&P Sport after giving it a once-over for the customer's peace of mind.

galco and lone star are pretty good. and if you don't mind the wait, you can also go with Privateer or nightingale leather. triple k are actually very good leatherworkers, which is their core business (because high quality magazines sure isn't it...).

Did you ever try a Galco Yaqui Slide holster? As an aged boomer I feel that my more common attire could come to support that style of carry. Maybe.

The MSRP on those and the fact that they have a lot less commonality in parts with the ubiquitous AR platform makes it a tough sell. That said, my dumb ass will likely buy one if they release an 18" .308 model. No clue why, but I fucking love 18" .308 gas guns (so long as they're resonably accurate).

It looks like they did that so that you don't have to change the lower to go from 5.56 to 7.62x39, just the upper and magazines.

UXR is SUPER cool but expensive and proprietary.

Fwiw I'll probably be going with a JAKL 2.0 next year for my 5.56mm long stroke rifle.

As for TARIFF GUNS.... Tikka T3x ctr in 6.5CM and the PPK that I want are both in US warehouses and stores as I type lol.

Worst gun purchase I ever made when I was new to firearms and didn't have anyone tell me better. I picked up that Century Arms G3 knock off. It was such a piece of shit, didn't even make it 300 rounds before the charging handle would lock up half way and refuse to move. I paid to get it fixed and then sold it at a loss just to get it out of my safe. Unless HK started making and selling civilian G3s here, I'd be really hesitant to try another one again.

I heard rants about PTR and was congratulated for avoiding them, I wonder how badly they fucked up if that's the case.
I've got a DSA FAL and their polymer magazines function but I would not want one to slip out of my hands onto the floor. I've got one working Korean magazine to fit as well as a handful of legit imports, but the usual sources are dry. Don't buy a FAL, at least not until DSA actually produces their steel mags in a sensible volume.

they are being reproduced and the repros deform with enough uses (also repros do not have a rolled edge, they are cut off flat plastic). the original had very little give because they are compressed celluloid with shellac and very flammable, but (other than color due to the year made) are the same for the Type 38 and Type 99. just pay the $20 for an original and call it a day.
