They have control over gookmoot's account and there's only one other actual admin. I know very little about how imageboards operate but my guess is that there's literally nobody online right now that can actually gain control over the site. Unlike KF there's essentially zero contingency in place for if someone gets control over an admin account.

The natural conclusion is that the place has essentially been run by a Discord cabal for the last near-decade and the one active admin is only asked to step in when something is critically broken. They had no contingency in place because there was nobody with the kind of technical acumen needed to ask and act on questions like "What if someone hacks into gookmoot's account?". They have people using fucking .gov and .edu emails on their mod accounts, for God's sake.
This is much worse than when a random Australian socially-engineered a mod's account, this soyteen had access to the admin account. That implies he could access root (which I'm inclined to believe if he could just flip switches to bring back /qa/). This is a worst scenario, the entire site is subject to SQL injection and more.

Here’s to hoping that Hiro shuts down the site after this and 4chan ends on a high note
Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if he sells 4chan after this. A lot of people don’t know this, but Hiro is really famous in Japan. He appears on Japanese talk shows and ranks in Vtuber money with the advice streams he does. He really doesn’t need 4chan. I assume that 4chan probably generates him a pretty decent amount of passive income and that the sites probably runs itself without him having to deal with it too much (until now that is). If he decides it’s too much of a hassle after this I could easily see him selling it.
