This entire thread can be summarized by one phrase with a truth as hard as steel:

Mods are Fags

Seriously, since being a mod or janny provides a soft requisite that the individual is terminally online, the vast majority fall under the categories of emotionally stunted (aka NEET losers), flurries, gooners, or tranny sex pests with overlap between the 4 groups. It's like the political alignment chart really.

Thus your rights to free speech, conversation with individuals across entire land masses and oceans, or access to stores of information are dependent on the mood of a literal basement dwelling loser who has no morals, hopes, or aspirations beyond what their warped mind perverts these concepts.

The fags of Soyjack are no better, it's literally an ironic unironic yet still ironic but not really unironic circlejerk that tries to pass itself off as a hip subculture and not another breed of schizo behavior for the terminally online whose only contact with genitalia of the opposite sex was when they were shat out by their mothers. I can't conceive that even when at my lowest I would ever think to participate in repetitive brain rot behavior and act smug about it.
I think you meant Mentally Stunted. They're stuck at the mental age of 14, meaning they will become pedophiles, starting with lolishota shit.
Wheatley getting corrupted by power is a great example of many internet jannies. Except most 4cuck jannies were always degenerate and the "power" of being jannies fueled their egos and made them worse

And that was like a decade ago, I can only imagine how bad it is now.
It was really bad. The filtering doesn't even work because the spammers would deliberately make threads that would go around filters, or they would dump content into unrelated threads. It was a problem of a lack of moderation.

Also, in nearly all the threads (porn or not) it was usually one or two people dumping the same videos from reddit and twitter over and over again. Meanwhile most of the thread is composed of text only posts and slapfights. The quality of the videos was dogshit and the people were worse. Once you see one thread on /gif/ you saw them all.

The exact reason for the /qa/ shutdown remains speculative but Sharty users believe mods aimed to clean up off-topic threads as /qa/ was known for soyjak spam and schizoposting. The board was permanently locked on November 3rd, 2021.
The reason is not speculative at all, the shutdown was a quick retaliation for /qa/ raiding /lgbt/, the pet favortie board of the mods.

I started up a YouTube video this morning, and it started with "So this is a green text story from 4chan". I was immediately disquieted by the prospect that there may never BE greentext stories from 4chan anymore. One of the most iconic, powerful meme formats on the Internet might be going extinct.

It feels surreal. It'd be like you told me the Appalachian mountains don't exist anymore. They've been a fixture of the cultural landscape long enough to be considered ancient history, and now they're just gone? It feels impossible, but that's where we're at. I can only hope whatever comes next is an improvement.

Anywhere from a few days to just 2 more weeks. Depends how fast they can patch all the known and unknown vulnerabilities that got shown to the world in the source code leak.
Best case scenario is they do a shitty job at it and 4ch continues to get fucked with for months to come, crippling it permanently and moving whatever is left of it to real(tm) imageboards.

People will always bring up "politics" in relation to when the website began to sink in quality, but for me it was a issue that I feel like seeded for all that to happen.

2011-2012 was when the wind really began to change direction on that website. Overnight it felt like all the big boards were obsessed with Reddit/Tumblr, being Anti-Reddit/Tumblr, and making sure they had "board culture". Which was always there, but rather than being a unspoken joke between strangers, it felt forced. Didn't like this shitty forced meme? Well you're a REDDITOR! That's really when I feel like most major boards began to shift downward. Still plenty of gold left in the hills in the upcoming years, but I felt like that was kinda the beginning of the end.
I'm a bit late replying to this (if I blink, 20 new pages appear), but anyway: anybody accusing you of being a redditor is most likely a redditor him/xerself:
