I wouldn't do a fucking OS upgrade remotely, and certainly not one that basically no one has ever tried. Just start up a new box with your old shit on it and find out what breaks before you brick your old hardware by restarting it for the first time in 10 years.

well, thats what your iDRAC is for....i heard they moved it to a poweredge from the mac minis.
but given the circumstances....is the DRAC in one piece? is that updated with alert moniors? are disk/raid failing/failed? yeah - might actually be hopeless. if the drac is fucked you have a bigger problem anyway.
a lot of unknowns here.

oh - if they even have an iDRAC....i think thats enterprise licensing for the poweredge. might not even have THAT

I can't certifiably confirm it, but I don't doubt it whatsoever. I've seen extensions that allow posting automatic replies using an LLM API, and there were functioning (deliberate, useful) bots in certain threads on /g/. I don't have proof that posting certain keywords would trigger some discord to raid the thread with bots, but I have no reason to believe they weren't used.

In all seriousness, isn't 4chan literally a clone of 2chan written by teen moot. How hard would it be to just remake the site from scratch? (I'm a retard who knows nothing about coding). Also isn't Yostuba pretty much out of the box open source 4chan? Couldn't they just yoink that?

this requires actual work.
building, versioning, unit testing, deploying, maintaining ci/cd, and having up-to-date hardware that in basically all cases needs enterprise licensing.

if they never touched anything since m00t left, the general assumption here is this is beyond everyone involved (currently)

There's no way running a forum is any harder than running a minecraft server. Kids can do it. These trannies took 4chan pass and ad money and it turns out they did nothing for the site in years. I have no love for the admins and jannys just by all the bullshit bans I'e received and how they treat complaints, but I didn't imagine they cared this little about the site.

I compiled the info together along with whois info and boards assigned, and also whois info from the phonebooked ips. I tried to run some scans with nmap for all of these but its so slow. There's some with open ports though and services running, might be fun but you'll have to do that yourself

There are a bazillion yotsuba clones so the issue isn't that remaking or copying the format is hard, the issue is that achieving the organic critical mass necessary to have a fully fledged imageboard community is very difficult, especially whilst also clamping down on the 'p and the other content that brings legal (and other kind of) troubles to the site owners. Server/bandwidth costs are probably also another thing.

You can "yoink it" all you want, but good luck trying to be "4ch but better"...
