TGWTG Linkara / Lewis Lovhaug - HMMMMMMM? (Dead Gay Muppet Gangbang)

I wonder how hard it sting Linky, that Doug can go to cons, have a table and panel, while he had to cut down on this stuff hard.
I remember someone made the point that ultimately all the channel awesome guys needed Doug, not the other way around. Their epic little coup in 2017-8 or whatever was so cathartic because for 99% of channel awesome creators linkara included it meant permanent irrelevancy. Aside from that monster Lindsay Ellis.

And I’ll still say it was all because of Jew Wario’s corpse being an Uno reverse card.

Well Doug is popular enough still that cons will invite him out. The others are no one and so have to pay their own way. But Lewis doesn't have much merch to sell to make his money back for the trip, so he can't justify it, not with Viga's good budget.

That killed it quicker than it would have gone down, but the truth is that none of them were even close to Doug's level except for Spoony and he was long gone by that point. Eventually people would have lost interest and the former CA contributors would have to rely entirely on their own talents. And as we've seen, they have none.

That was seven years ago and you just know they're still mad at Doug for being unaffected by CTC in the long run.

Blip going away also hurt everyone.
Blip went away like over 6 years prior to that point, and every member of CA was established on YouTube. Hell, Doug made a MCN called "League of Super Critics", which Lewis was a member of. Lewis is now a member of Screenwave.

Technically Blip 'went away' when it was bought by Maker, and when Maker was bought by Disney it was a formality. The heavy paydays from Blip went away when all the ad revenue contracts came back to renew and no one was willing to pay the insane amount per impression again.

With the possible exception of Lindsay the rest just kinda folded and didn't do much afterwards.

And part of me still laughs that some like E-Rod still are languishing in obscurity while Lewis dreams of days gone by when he was invited to cons and had panels and people paid attention to him. Now he's begging for scraps and hoping people can help him pay his taxes.

My god have Lewis and film Brain gotten old. More so film brain who's British genes haven't done him any favors what with going bald. Lewis has done somewhat better in that only his face seems to be giving out from age/weight.

What's worse is when he cut to Dr. Linksano we can see not only how fat Lewis is but how much hair he's lost.

I guess there's a reason he insists on wearing that hat all the time.

Damn being white and or British coupled with not bothering to take keratin and biotin for your skin/hair really does a number on your hairline. Just look what happened to James rolfe, Doug and Brad. Though I think those guys have aged a lot more gracefully then lewis...plus at least two of them have kids to account for developing dad bodies.

I would also add Angry Joe to the list. Lindsay survived because she rebranded herself as a breadtuber, but Joe is the only ex-Channel Awesome person still going strong, doing his Angry Reviews and standing on his own without Doug. He might even rival Doug in views. He's probably the only real success story I can think of from that group.

Don't get me wrong, Joe has his own questionable stuff, and I'm not really a fan myself, but credit where credit's due, his niche is actually fairly important (videogames), unlike the other Doug clones reviewing niches nobody cares about, like 70s movies? And unlike Lewis, he's evolved with the times and even expanded to reviewing nerd media in general.

Pissed Pablo was never my thing so I kinda always forget he was there.

I'd say it helps that Angry Joe reviews newer stuff and doesn't limit himself to bad media. He also branches out to do movies too.

Linkara sticks to a really limited niche not a lot of people care about and doesn't bother expanding his reach.

As I said he could cover, comic book movie adaptations, manga, and the newer comics but chooses not too. Hell he could even do spotlights and retrospectives on popular comic characters.

But he'd rather do the same thing he did for the past 15 years.

Indeed. In fact, their niche divisions were only because Doug wanted people reviewing media he wouldn't bother with, like anime or videogames. This was so they wouldn't compete with each other. But now, without Channel Awesome, nothing is stopping them from expanding.

Lewis is still following the Channel Awesome mold to a T, even if it doesn't make sense anymore. For example, Joe's niche is video games, but he also reviews movies and TV shows. Even Doug himself doesn't do only nostalgic media.

That's his autism which is why he still keeps anything that happened to him during his Channel Autism years as being canon. The invading of a micronation, houses turned into spaceships and all that are part of his whole being "Linkara" so he needs to keep them.

And when he does branch out it's always as a different character. He reviews manga and stuff during "Longbox of the Damned" but not as Linkara but... I want to say Muarte. He reviews movies as... another character. He never does these things as Linkara because Linkara is a comic book guy.

I love how Linkara wants to have a Linkara Cinematic Universe but his grand plans are hindered by something like “not structuring the shooting schedule around whether or not other cast and crew are available.”

Doug enabled groomers. That’s the headline everyone ran with, anyway. Of course, actually figuring out what happened requires Googling for more than ten seconds. If people had even an idea of what the ringleader was doing on Twitter—which, to be clear, was bordering on stochastic terrorism—they’d be a lot less focused on Doug and a lot more pissed off at the CTC circus.

"A lie can circle around the world while the truth is still lacing up its shoes."

There's also the fact that a lot of those people are still parroting CTC while CA only did one post refuting some claims, not always well, and then never brought it up again because they were smart enough to know not to draw attention to it. And also the CTC document collects everything nice and easy, but finding out how full of shit they are requires watching multiple videos and finding posts, some of which are gone. Or just realising that expecting Doug to stop everything for ten days so Lewis can film his movie in their studio is unreasonable.
