Let's Sperg Marathon 2025 - Bungie's new AAAA Extraction shooter

The UI is final? It seems pretty rough. Also, Didn't get a code, feels bad.
The Troonslop aesthetic would almost be forgivable if they just made it a Singleplayer game, CEOs who keep shoving Live Service games in our faces and getting mad when it fails are fucking idiots who think they deserve a return on investment, Pete Parsons should be executed for green-lighting this, no one wants to play an extraction shooter

I mean there’s Tarkov but it’s main problem is not being on Steam, but even with that it still mogs what they are doing with Marathon, I never liked Extraction Shooters but personally but if it had a Singleplayer campaign or an arena mode in addition to the extraction mode it probably would have done well but no these Kikes only care about being the next Fortnite I hate them so much

I've got 2000+ hours in Tarkov
I dropped the game after they launched the "Unheard" edition, fucking over everyone who bought the Edge of Darkness, which was supposed to have all future DLC.
It was the last straw in a game infested with cheaters, horrible netcode, and jank beyond belief.

brother WHAT IS THIS TEXTURE WORK?!? this is insane

I never cared about any of the Extraction shooters when they got popular but from watching Marathon, it seems like this genre is just a battle royale with meta loot progression, so a cancer upon a cancer.
Pretty much the only Extraction Shooter I've played is Hunt: Showdown. I remember it being based and pretty unique, but I don't like multiplayer games all that much so I dropped it. The only other one I've considered playing is Marauders, but it seems to be dying a slow death. Which is a shame, the setting and aesthetic is cool as hell.

Am I the only person that just wants a sequel to the original Marathon trilogy and still remembers playing that shit from the 90s?

I want it to have the old Marathon Trilogy aesthetic, not this single color cyberpunk faggotry.

Too bad Greg Kirkpatrick isn't around to help with the scenario. The thing about Marathon is it had an excellent campaign AND it had good netplay (as long as it's LAN).

Jesus Lord mercy what happened to this guy.

Case in point, this was the old Marathon dev crew from the 90s:

All dudebros that just wanted to get that shit out the door working overtime, and sometimes playing LAN to pass the time.

Jason Jones of old reminded me of a surfer bro. One hell of a leader back then too. This video was found on the Marathon Trilogy disc as a hidden file. Had to dig a bit deep using something like ResEdit to get to it.
