I used to follow her, back in the day, when I was still on LiveJournal, when she was still presenting herself as female while at the same time describing herself as a "non-operative transsexual" and a "gay man in a woman's body." Looking back, I can now see that she fits a pooner stereotype—the odd hetero girl who doesn't relate to other girls or traditionally female gender roles, has a much easier time talking to and relating to men, likes being seen as "one of the guys," but has no traditionally male interests, nothing unusually masculine about her (typical pooner—she's a shorty), and also has mental health problems clearly visible to anybody watching.

As another weird girl who was used to having oddballs in my life and had once had gender trouble myself, I got it, and didn't think it was all that weird.

Before Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath, she clearly struggled with depression, plus chronic pain due to a back injury (she started using the cane pre-poonout). She was still writing, though, and was working on another book. But afterward? Katrina basically broke her. She abandoned the book she'd been working on pre-K, and while she could have written an absolute banger about the experience of post-K New Orleans, she stopped witing completely and sank deeper into her depression.

Her first marriage ended not long after she decided to poon out, but I suspect it was due more to her persistently bleak mental state than chopping off her hair and starting T. She seemed to be pushing a lot of people away at that point. But at the same time, she met her current husband, Grey, during that period, and they've been together ever since.

And it doesn't surprise me that they're always broke; Grey's art (photos manipulated in PS) is terrible, and her royalty checks have got to be perilously small by now. She's been selling her own art and crafts to hustle up quick cash for years, but she's reliant on old, loyal fans from long ago—with no new books, there are no new fans.

Maybe it's the testosterone, but I think it's more likely that she's faking it for clout.

Nah, this one's not faking it. I can't remember how her back got fucked up in the first place, but it was a problem 20+ years ago, pre—troonout. Her real problem, IMO, is that she's chronically depressed, which wrecks one's ability to pursue solutions to their problems. There's no energy for it, and it's hard for somebody who is depressed to imagine it could actually work. They hate getting their hopes up only to be disappointed—and they know they're going to be disappointed, so why try? So they get a shitty outcome by not doing anything, which somehow confirms the futility of doing anything at all.

It's a terrible way to live, and frustrating as hell to watch somebody live that way (especially when you've been there yourself, and fought like hell to get out of it). That's why I finally quit following her, even before the poon-out.

Google review and complaint filed to the complaint line because the manager dared to request the hotel room be paid for.

They got a free 3 day extension but finally, FINALLY, Juno has been evicted from the hotel for not paying for the hotel room.

1 week until they move into their apartment, I give that shit 2 months max before they also get evicted for not paying the rent.
