Why is it that total creeps often look creepy as well? Seriously, look at that dude. If you told me he was an ax murderer or something, I'd believe you.
That was the dude who Salon got to write articles defending pedophilia. It's worth noting that after the Milo scandal, Salon deleted their pedo defence articles. Vice however kept theirs up.

This whole thing kinda bums me out. I've listened/watched a lot of stuff with Jon outside of his show and he seems like a pretty great guy to be around.

The whole climate of the Internet as it is right now has basically brought out the worst in everyone politically and even he can't avoid it at this point. It's gotten to the point where you have almost no choice but to choose a side, and since Jon chose his, everyone on the other side is now completely happy to throw him under a bus.

I wouldn't say that. I'd say Jon is far from "choosing a side" besides the side of "fuck the internet outrage machine." To reiterate what Sargon of Akkad said in his stream w/ Destiny: Jon said some really stupid things, but most likely not because he believed in them, but because he didn't know how to properly articulate what he actually believes in.

However the damage is done, and unless he lays low for a while he's gonna catch some serious shit.

JonTron did suffer a dip of a few thousand subscribers going over the last week.

His video views however are way up, averaging over 320,000 or so.

He got more back than he lost within a week.

One of the biggest... Issues, I suppose with identity politics as a whole is that one side essentially has the full cooperation of both the online and mainstream press, and has gotten to the point where tangential dissent makes you a nazi/racist/sexist/homophobe/fill in the fucking blank.

Because extremists hate everyone who isn't also an extremist, you very often would see them alienate or savage some fucking hapless neutral who had no dog in the fight just for making an appeal to reason. Most of the time, the identity politicians will not allow people to remain neutral regardless of reason, treating them as accessory to the ideologies they hate.

Y'kind of wonder when the end point, the snapping point will come.
