GoldenEye speedruns are uniquely terrible because most of the time the run is spent with Bond running forward staring at the floor. This is done because the N64 saves on resources by only loading in assets and models that the camera can see, so if you move while staring at the floor the game runs 0.1% faster or whatever the fuck.

I still thought speedrunning was neat when it was just Andrew G and super mario. When they start staring at the floor in obscure games and trooning out it's time to stop. It's like having one friend who smokes a blunt now and then and another who went down the drain with crack.

Karl "Jobsts" is already a hilariously accurate name for him. A lot of people might not realize this but to "Job" is a very common phrase in professional wrestling to describe someone losing.

Karl Jobst has always had more confirmed and proven instances of cheating in competitions than Billy Mitchell, including completely fabricated and forged times submitted in an attempt to steal away prizes from others.

I think the concept of speedrunning itself is interesting, however I am saying this with the expectation that, keeping with the Goldeneye example, you actually play the fucking game. You can see what the player is doing, sniping enemies as they run by, throwing the floppy disk across the room just right so it hits the computer and counts as finishing the mission, etc.

Running around staring at the fucking floor while periodically hearing that weird wheezing damage sound effect every time the runner gets a speed boost from getting shot in the ass just right is retard shit. Even though there is, objectively, talent involved here, it's not fun to watch in the slightest. There's nothing to see. It's not exciting. As soon as the "skill level" of a speedrun goes from "legitimately playing the game in a fast-paced impressive way" to "jumping at the wall just right so you clip into it and skip straight to the fuckin end", it's no longer fun to me. At that point you're not playing the game.

He's going to end up owing a lot, but that video is clickbait and the calculation used to get the "owes Billy Mitchell $1,800,000+" title is obviously wrong.

Read the Discord screenshots and compare to the claim in the stupid video. In relevant part, they say:

• Karl says his "total legal fees are almost $700k, notch paid around $300k". Note that Karl also had a GoFundMe for A$200k which means the out of pocket cost to him would be closer to $200k.
• Karl says "Billy paid more than" he did.

How does the "$1.8 million" come from? The moron in the video adds $700k + $700k + $400k (approximate value of the judgment including interest) to get to $1.8 million!

Jobst does not "owe" Billy any money for his own legal fees. That's ludicrous and is clickbait: that money obviously went to his own legal team, not Billy, as the video implies. Also, based on Karl's own statement, it appears he only paid around a third or less of his own fees while grifting the remainder from donors.

The amount of Billy's legal fees Jobst is on the hook for is a matter for the judge.

Of course, Jobst does owe the close to $400k judgment.

He can do a payment plan (probably his best option), or Billy can potentially seize assets and property if it came down to it. Given Billy's recent filing expressing interest in collecting from Karl, I am convinced he doesn't get a massive payday from the Govt there. He just has the legal right to collect from Karl with the court backing him.

Karl really has no leverage here, so a payment plan should be what he goes for.

I do agree that LUS claiming, or at the very least implying, that he owes Billy $1.8M AUS is a misrepresentation. However I think claiming that the 1.8M AUS figure is how much he's into this whole case isn't. I was not attempting to imply in my thing that Karl owes Billy that figure. Sorry if it came across that way.
