Hello! Had a funny idea for a pfp I might take a crack at in the future but it most likely will turn out like shit due to a non existent skill in anything drawing related outside ms paint. So here's a submission for anyone willing to take a crack at it, and we can work out compensation later via DMs.

Submission request

Title: Terry Davis gives you a bible and drinks beer
Medium: CG or drawn irl
Description: Terry sits on the edge of the bed, in his right hand he is handing a bible to the camera, in the left he drinks from a non brand beer bottle, Wears a temple OS shirt. In the background is his linux PC displaying his usual interface with temple OS code in a window, left of the screen barely peeks out a cage with parrots (any species, doesn't matter). On his head is his signature grey/black cap. Face is traced from the OG pic.
Payment: a gorrilion, bazillion, derillion dollers in steam gift cards

This isn't serious at all and just a goof, if you want to do it for free thats fine too but I'll still give you something as a token of appreciation. Just a funny thing that I imagined.

Hail, mavens of the crafts, neophytes and acolytes of the arts! In the spirit of being faggots (not the gay pride kind) we will be creating a Coat of Arms (the kiwi pride kind), to celebrate autism, that which is holy, or whatever stirs and rallies your hearts. The Kiwi Farms is very much under threat from the powers that be, many whom seek ill will towards our kiwis. It is time to dawn the tools of creation and design a regalia in its name, or y'know, just make something cool.

CHALLENGE
Today we will be rehashing a subject that has already been, but not fully done; Lines! Something that may sound rudimentary or simple in concept yet is very complex and not entirely easy to master. This challenge will be focusing on a wide variety of line types to express different effects one can attain through their unique uses. A bit of tldr history to share for those who might not know what a coat of arms is and examples of them:
Ripped straight out of Britannica: "coat of arms, the principal part of a system of hereditary symbols dating back to early medieval Europe, used primarily to establish identity in battle. Arms evolved to denote family descent, adoption, alliance, property ownership, and, eventually, profession."

The origin of the term coat of arms is in the surcoat, the cloth tunic worn over armour to shield it from the sun’s rays. It repeated the bearer’s arms as they appeared on his banner or pennon and on his shield, and it was particularly useful to the heralds as they toured the battlefield identifying the dead.

Some references and templates for you to draw ideas from.

Requirements
As seen in some of the examples, CoA's use many kinds of lines. Sharp jagged ones for either the background patterns in the shields or animals detail, smooth wavy or curved lines for arches/rounding the ribbons for the text tapestries, etc. Your CoA should express multiple different line types and varied thicknesses so not all lines look the same.

I made this crude image to simulate line varieties (in dark mode too, easy on the eyes :)). These are the main types, and although there are additional ones such as scalloped/castle/spiral/etc, those all expand upon the 4 you see below.

Style
There is no style requirement this time around. You can stick with the Medieval tone but feel free to step outside of it. As some have seen, if you have the affinity for metal (skulls, bones, or the occult), you can make something with more of an undead or pirate theme. You could go industrial and have cogs/bolts or machinery built-in. Frames of the shield could be wooden, or maybe some jeweled embellishments, it could be battle-worn with dents, holes, or other blemishes (perhaps line scratches).

Note: You can make it only black and white if you wish. Those comfortable with using color, splash some in since the typical coats use very few gradients.

For Experienced Artists
Your CoA's should have all the trimmings; ribbon scrolls with whatever words you want to put in (bonus points if Latin), Animals/Objects of your choice (not just what is shown in the examples, literally anything) on both sides, an adorned crown atop (or hat of some kind) the shield/crest, and a relatively intricate background design within the shield/coat itself.

Note: If you're less experienced to drawing, don't be shy in giving it a shot. The additional challenge is to push your limits and explore aspects you've maybe not tried before.

Misc
It was thought up originally to make a flag challenge but that felt a little too simple.

Next Up
This challenge acts as somewhat of a primer for the following challenge on the 16th which will expand on the idea of using lines for shading: specifically for lights and shadows.

The direction of the lines also reperesent colors.

Here's the flag of the United States when hatched.

And of course for pride month, the gay flag.

Also another interesting thing about coat of arms is the written discription defines it, after which there's full artistic liberty, for example this coat of arms the written discription, when using plain English instead of the Norman French terms that are standard, is simply "2 vertical yellow fish back to back on a black shield with a yellow sawtooth border, topped by a knight's helmet with a black owl perching on it", all of the following depictions of the coat of arms are all equally correct.

I am immensely horrible at drawing
Sounds like the perfect time to start. The next few challenges will be going over other basics then branching into subjects even I don't have much experience with. You've got 2 weeks time to at least make a draft or something, just spend 10-20 mins a day scribbling. It doesn't have to be a finished work.

I made a similar thread recently, not just for flags but for coats of arms:
https://kiwifarms.st/threads/custom-heraldry-and-vexillology.219561/

I'll submit what I did there (colored + hatching):
- The border of the main body, the inscriptions, the cross, the inner circle of the stars, and the head at the top in "or".
- The decoration around the eye, and rays from the stars in "tenné".
- The rings, and top metallic parts in "cendrée".
- The main body in "purpure".
- The iris in "gules".
- The white of the eye in "argent".
- The pupil in "sable".
- The dragons in "sanguine".

I am immensely horrible at drawing so I probably wont be participating but as a CoA autist I look forward to seeing what you guys make
Hope you’ll consider it. There’ve been some submissions by people who said they’re bad at drawing, I really liked them and you can tell they had fun with it.

Ok, I know that this isn't really the following the prompt, in fact it is the opposite. But I got kissed by inspiration an wanted to contribute something to this thread since it's inception.
