Remember when Linky was so ass-blasted about the running meme (and legitimately thought that Doug might have written that scene to be serious) because it wasn't something he made (and people thought it was something he did on his incredibly high brow show) that he tried to offer approved Linkara running memes to replace it?

Lewis was fine with the running bit, as it was from a review he did with Doug and Spoony when they were still all friends or at least coworkers. It's only later when people started making fun of Lewis and calling him the Lightbringer that he got pissed because he wasn't in control of it.

Then he got super pissy that nobody wanted to use his "approved" memes.

The reason he was fine at first was because he thought everyone was taking this as seriously as he did. That running gif was him trying to look cool. It flopped because one, it's him. But two, it's a stupid internet show. Instead of realizing how ridiculous it is for a dumpy comic book nerd to play badass, he blamed Doug because he couldn't admit he's the one who fucked up.

Oh everyone thinks he did worse than Doug, except for Lewis himself. He has no personal creativity and so can only rip off other people. Doug does as well, but is able to put his own spin on things... to an extent. But it's still a step above Lewis's shit.

Yep. He even admitted when he put it into public domain he did so because he wanted other people to take over it. Before then he asked people to submit their proposals for the continuation of Lightbringer... and then was too lazy to read any of them.

If he'd never met Viga and instead gotten a wife who wanted to pay her fair share, he'd probably still be doing it just because he loves it.

Haven't watched it, but I'm gonna assume 60% of the video will be variations of "I don't know anything about video games, so I can't really comment on this bit." and "I don't really have anything to say." that makes you wonder why he didn't just tell the patron to choose something he can actually commentate on.

His conditions for Patreon sponsored reviews says he can turn down requests and if you can't come to an agreement you can refund.
MGS1 is short enough to meet his criteria for game time though.

Isn't that what he normally does when he "reviews" comic books? Read what's on the page, make a couple bad jokes and snarky comments, puts on a Batman mask and says something stupid then goes back to reading?

I literally can't watch Lewis anymore. He's so... boring and unfunny.

I'll give him credit that he at least decided to limit the amount of people who can buy into the perk. Patreon is supposed to be a monthly reward system, once he had more than four people he wouldn't be able to meet the reward. At least he had enough foresight to understand that.

I don't understand though why he would still set the tier up like this in the first place. He is making it deliberately difficult for himself. Why offer to review anything other than a comic book? You are a comic review show, stick to comics. Why structure it in such a way that you have to limit the amount of people who can buy into this perk since you can't meet the monthly reward requirements beyond four people?

If I was Linkara (thank god I am not), I would instead offer a special Patreon-only episode or stream that only they have access to. Maybe offer them choices to vote on which comic to review for that month. Or they could suggest which comics they want to see reviewed. Every month these select patrons can come to a consensus and that is the comic you have to review for that months private episode or stream. After some time has passed, you can sell other fans who didn't pay into the Patreon for that perk that month those private episodes for the amount of money you charged the patrons.
