Everytime I see shit like this I cant help but wonder, where the FUCK was this persons parents? Like, your son is posting cock cage pictures and getting groomed in VRchat at 16 and youre just completely oblivious?

Obviously this person is an adult now and they are responsible for their own actions but I feel like the parents are just as much at fault for letting it get to this point in the first place. In the past I used to cut parents a lot of slack. The internet was new and we didnt know the effect it would have on children and teens developmentally. It sort of snuck up on society out of nowhere and before we knew it it was everywhere.

Well, its not 2014 anymore, the data is in, we know what unfettered internet access does to a mfer now, if you are still letting your kids only socialization be VRchat ERP Sessions in the year of our lord 2025 you can't be surprised when your kid develops some abhorrent paraphillia or other sexual dysfunction.

it's like there's no inbetween at all, from what i've observed nowadays parents will either just simply not care at all about what their child is doing on the internet with other strangers or they'll do everything in their power to cut off their children from the internet as much as possible. neither will provide healthy outcomes (though your child would probably be better off if they had no idea what Discord was), and it only leads to more frustration for everybody in the end

like with everything else in life there needs to be a balance between the two, and it's kinda odd to me that said balance goes by completely ignored by most parents. either that or they'll blame the internet for their child's developmental problems, because it's obviously not their fault that their child turned out a sexually depraved freak due to lack of supervision! no, it was the internet, and solely the internet, that did such a thing! no blame in this at all!

I somehow completely forgot about the fact there was a fallout gun with that reference on it lmao. Makes sense given fallout's whole deal is an alternate future where the cold war led to nuclear disaster.
