A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Do not besmirch the name of Mr Tumble. It's bad enough you constantly lie about politics with your weird fanfics and pretend that you have inside sources but that man is a hero entertaining and educating new generations whilst keeping his hands to himself.

FITE ME IRL!!!!!!

And I shall stand shoulder to shoulder with you in that fight!!

Okay, I have heard through close channels that he has a very high opinion of himself. That's an undesirable quality in a man.

Something Special (whatever you think of the licence fee) is the only ad-free TV programme made to entertain retarded kids. The parents of retarded kids need that respite most of all, and Mr Tumble/Justin Fletcher worked hard to pitch that show to the execs. It also normalises spastics to normal kids, which means less pointing and staring and awkward questions. In spite of my dismissive language, I'm quite sincere about this.

You can see that the team fits a lot of work into a single day on location. He works well with spasticated guest contributors whilst remaining engaging to a majority audience of perfectly normal toddlers. He can sing/mime the Goodbye Song even when he's hurtling down a fucking rollercoaster, or effortlessly stepping over the bars of a moving accessible roundabout.

Not saying he's my hero or nothing.
If you can't be nice, then please keep Mr Tumble's name out of your filthy mouth.

you are right, i found some updates and it's some whore
A 16 year old prostitute and her prostitute sister decide it was rape after 20 years of taking money. Bloody typical. I know a lot of blokes dream of having a FFM with 2 sisters or a mother/daughter but to actually take money to do it thinking it will get you a job (and access to rich footballers?) is quite something.
Not good.

No attempt to stop it. This is intentional.

Whatever happened to all those WW2 defenses with machine guns in? This could be stopped by a single man with a rifle putting a hole in the boats or driver when they got in range. How many boats would you need to sink before they stopped trying to cross? I'm thinking less than 5.

You need to hit them in their pockets.
Tax remittances. The fact that our tax money goes towards large percentages of other countries GDP is embarrassing. 75% tax on remittances would keep that money in our economy.
Remove benefits from anyone who hasn't been here since before the year 2000. This includes social housing, disability benefits, access to social care and access to the NHS.
If they have to support and care for their own genetic abominations, pay for their own food and housing, get charged for medical care, they might think twice about needlessly reproducing.
Enforce housing standards, and noise pollution laws, so they can't pile 25 people into a 2 bed house, either, or blast calls to prayer outside the hours of 7am to 11pm.
Seize Mosques, turn them into subsidised third spaces for the native Britons.
Seize some holiday parks near Kent, use them to store the "small boats" chancers erect fences, barbed wire, guard them, and keep them there in these camps until they can be deported. If anyone complains about concentration camps, tell them "if it's good enough for native British holidays, it's good enough for asylum seekers."
Where do I fit in @Otterly s cabinet, then? Maybe I should just be the ranting, raving, sweary Scot, I'm good at that. I'll go rabid at the civil service wonks who think they're special.
We also need to find the rich people in the FBPE groups who are funding the migrant operations.

Riz Posnett and her family are said to be one of the instigators.

British Nationality Act 1981
No, you have to keep that one, at least in part. It eliminated birthright citizenship and required you to be able to prove at least one parent was also a citizen or had right of abode. It's why we kept getting sob stories like "I've lived here my whole life and now I've been deported to Bangladesh because my parents were illegal and I couldn't get a passport!"

Also, kick out all immigrants
English (if on board, all subversives out) Irish, Icelandic, and Dane/Sacndi / Nords can stay. The shetlands and the isles are very culturally and genetically linked to the scandi/nordic world and I’ll honour that. be lovely to have a close North Atlantic (eastern seaboard) alliance of the arctic-adjacent countries.
Rev back up the industrial and R and D that made Scotland the envy of the world. We’ve already got world class stuff going on at heriot watt and Orkney and other places for all this tech. Let’s build ships. Let’s create Fearsome Enjins again.

'Reform UK's deputy leader Richard Tice is set to present a bill introducing a new "backstop" against overly harsh sentences following the imprisonment of Lucy Connolly.

The bill, nicknamed "Lucy's Bill" would allow members of the public to mount mass appeals against punishments they deem to be too severe.'

Common sense, but no doubt the usual suspects will have apoplectic fits...

Also, Pat McFadden MP insists the Benefits Bill will go through, despite the fact that it will lead to an almost instantaneous backlash. If the MP's are whipped, and they defy their masters, then Labour will be facing a major crisis and (hopefully) a lot worse.

How many arrests of the smuggling organisers will the NCA have to make to stop these organised gangs arranging the boats to cross the channel. And to stop them finding the people to fill the boats and receiving thousands in payment per boat?

There doesn't seem to be many (if any) arrests made since the announcement of this new "team". Which has detered no one, seeing as over 2000 crossed in the last week or so.

I feel I have to correct you here.
I've played Call Of Duty on the PS3.

A long range sniper with a high powered rifle must consider many factors. Wind gusts, bullet drop, the Coriolis effect...
A shot aimed at the hull of a rubber dinghy could accidentally penetrate a seafarer's skull.

That would be shit, wouldn't it...?

There's one way to find out:

Take the leaders of the RNLI into Police Interview rooms across the country and tell them this:

'We want the names of the people who are forcing you to collect migrants - give us their details and you walk free, but if you don't you'll be detained and face a future trial for treason and you'll also lose any trappings of wealth as well.'

Put the squeeze on them and tell them they'll lose everything if they don't squeal. Yes, they love migrants, but they love money more than anything else.

I dunno. Isn't this just encouraging the sort of "he was a good boy who dindu nuffin" mob shit you see all the time?
Shouldn't the laws just be non-retarded in the first place?

I dont like this. This is thumbs down at the coliseum stuff. We need to enshrine free speech in a constitution that protects us all and acknowledges our god given rights, not have popularity contests. Lucy connelly should not be in jail at all.

My favourite part about these lawsuits is the way they are written as if all these women were inocent 10 year old altar boys who didn't know what sex was.

deal. we keep that one.

but only till we enact a law which says: No browns allowed. We can put up a big sign at dover

They should be non retarded. Also don’t forget that the British government is VERY good at the process that goes like this;
- want to get a law through
-it would be rejected as draconian by the oublic
-find the least sympathetic person you possibly can as an example to trigger it. Of they’re a nazi even better!
-put law in place
-anyone who objects you refer back to your example and accuse the objector of being on their side (you’re not a nazi are you?)
-public meekly accepts law
-public realises law criminalises them as well, too late

I just was listening to this Greg Johnson talk on free speech. It pretty much convinced me what a bad spot we would be in if It wasn't for the American free speech that enables them to be able to say more than us, but Britain has been able to access. It's clearly why they are clamping down.

They don't want us to be able to hear what Americans can talk about.

Imran Mulla jailed after granting asylum applications for money

A Blackburn man who abused his position to grant asylum applications for money has been jailed.

Imran Mulla, 39, of Moorfield Avenue, pleaded guilty to immigration offences and bribery after manipulating the system to overturn a refused asylum claim.

The incident took place in February 2024, when Mulla worked as an executive officer in the asylum team in Manchester, managing a digital caseload and interviewing asylum seekers.

Despite completing all his training courses on security and data protection and counter fraud, bribery and corruption, the defendant contacted Nural Amin Begh, 23, a Bangladeshi national who was refused asylum and accepted £1,500 to grant his application.

The pair communicated several times over the following days, and on March 13, Mulla breached policy to allocate Begh’s case to himself and grant the application.

Begh, of High Street, Southampton, transferred further monies over the next few months, totalling £3,500.

Frances Killeen, Senior Crown Prosecutor for CPS North West, said: “Imran Mulla was in a trusted position in the asylum team at the Home Office.

“He abused that trust to line his own pockets by offering to change the outcome of asylum applications for money.

“I hope this case sends a clear message – the CPS is committed to working closely with law enforcement and immigration authorities to stamp out corruption.”

On March 7, Mulla rang his second target, a Turkish national who was waiting to hear if his asylum had been granted.

Giving a false name, he told the man his application was likely to be refused but he could help if he paid him £2,000.

The man was concerned about the call so he reported it to his immigration solicitor and Mulla was arrested on 19 March 2024. He made no comment during his police interviews.

While under investigation, Mulla continued to receive money from Begh.

Mulla pleaded guilty on 12 March 2025, at Preston Crown Court, to conspiracy to assist unlawful immigration, unauthorised access to computer material and three counts of bribery.

He was jailed for four and a half years.

Begh pleaded guilty on 9 June 2025, prior to his trial starting at Preston Crown Court, to conspiracy to assist unlawful immigration and two counts of bribery.

He was jailed for 18 months.

Will the government go after the terrorist sympathizing MP like they do white people for memes?
