Sad fact of the matter is that Ross was obviously not prepared to be leading the charge of this movement (Even admitting so himself), and he hasn't done much to get the petition out there to the wider public, especially to gamers in the EU who don't speak a lick of English.

While it's great that the biggest talking heads online are finally talking about it and encouraging their fans to sign it, it's honestly too little, too late.

It would require them to get at least 14,000 signatures daily between now and July 31st. That is going to be a monumental task.

Mostly agree. the biggest problem has been and remains that most of the conversation has been in English. Ross also underestimated his own reach. He said in his last video he didn’t know how to get in touch with someone like Jack Scepticeye or PewDiePie. Perhaps huge creators like those really are too hard to get through to, but I really do think if Ross had publicly appealed for help from specific people (like via tweet or YouTube comment or something) there’s a decent chance it would get enough reactions for the intended recipient to notice. And from there, who knows? Based on how sympathetic both Mutahar and Charlie are they probably would have said more if Ross asked.

But consider the difference it would have made if mald had not said anything or even responded positively. Ross mentioned he heard rumors that at least one influencer didn’t get involved for fear of contradicting mald. He was positioned as the most popular “expert” on the topic in the mainstream YouTube/Twitch sphere and dominated the algorithm on searches for the topic, so when he says it’s shit it’s gonna do damage. Part of it festering for so long really is on Ross, though. What he did the other day was not a “drama” video even if it’s being received as such and he felt gross making it. But it’s not drama slop to set the record straight on misinformation about a cause you believe in. He should have forcefully pushed back much sooner than he did.
