If I may butt in for a second with an unsolicited opinion...
The relentless anti-cat-sperging rants have become a really annoying and gay virtue signal. It's no different than when some filthy, obese stinkpig says, "I'm glad my life is better than Chantal's!" It reveals more about the anti-catsperger than it does the alleged cat spergers.
There has been virtually zero actual cat sperging on this thread in the last couple thousand pages. Mere mentions of cats in a post, in a thread where many of the most significant plot twists have involved cats, is not sperging. Even tangential information about cats, rescue operations, cat maladies, and cat care can be germane to a fuller understanding of the story, just as tangential information about Kuwait or Canada or YouTube is germane to the story.
It has been a very long time since I saw anyone post about their own cat's cuteness, or their fear of it dying, or what brand of cat food they prefer. That is cat sperging. At this point, after half a dozen anti-catsperg admonishments on every page, the message seems to be 'don't fucking mention a cat, faggots, there is no graver sin' So, some people are reluctant to even mention cats.
How about we let people post what they want, and if they post a bona-fide catsperg, we blast them with autistic stickers and humiliate them with witty putdowns instead? That's how we used to handle it. The proactive warnings really get shrill and kareney after awhile.
