The show is better when there's some lolcow publisher making an ass of themselves (e.g. concord, dustborn, etc.) or some big public controversy. I think this is a phenomenon with a lot of hobby/culture podcasts, good games are just harder to make content about. Its been a slow few weeks other than the wet fart that the Switch 2 release was.

Basically, think about how any given KiwiFarms thread fluctuates in entertainment value.

This has actually been my biggest struggle with KF. I used to browse the gaming board a lot, but basically every thread in there is about how gay games are these days, how every new release is terrible, and about how things were better twenty years ago. I mean you know its silly when people are bitching that there are too many black people in Vice City, a copy of Miami, which like any city in the south has a large population of black people.

Much like SS, online gaming discussion is less fun when the games are good - because if they're good, its more entertaining to just go play the game. This causes online gaming forums to select for bad news, lolcows, dumpster fires, DEI and other unpleasant spectacles.

I think there's nothing wrong if you're lucky enough to have a big enough audience to the point where you can make a decent living simply by voicing your honest opinion on relevant political topics.
Sargon did and still does more or less the same thing, but I've never heard anybody call him a grifter.
