I feel like if the farms guy wasn't a sperg his opening move would have been to get all the fucking Rocket League streamers on board. Between Spain, Poland, Germany, and France there are easily a million people playing fucking Rocket League, and that's a live service game.

I think that would have helped but it's a big of a hindsight benefit.
The real fuck up was not having boots on the ground. The smart thing was to fund raise like 100k and spend that money on booths at gaming/anime conventions and on hiring people to move around. It would have netted both a good volume of signatures and a lot more powerful free publicity than begging jewtubers.

Mullvad Browser would be ideal for this.

All you have to do is slip in some boilerplate code to allow play on independent servers or in the case of single player flip a switch to disable online drm checks. You don't have to have any future involvement, or provide any source code, optimize or even fix any bugs. How is any of this a herculean task?

Someone mentioned further up the thread that licensing could come into play. For the DRM checks I think of a game like Hitman. As far as I know it still has bullshit always online DRM that checks connection with the IO servers before allowing you to play a single player only game. This game should be easy to remove that bullshit from when the servers finally go down.
