One of her most telling traits is when she says things like "It doesn't matter why I did X, what matters is YOU did Y."
She will never accept that
it does matter. Her actions cause these problems so
they do matter. We've heard this same speech before when she's been caught in an undeniable lie or outted to look bad and just needs to shift the blame.
It's one of the most ignorant of her responses, in my opinion.
It does matter that she chose to go to the cops about Nadar because he was trying to move away and she thought reporting him would prevent that.
It does matter that she told everyone she'd been raped and abused and then took it back.
It does matter that she turned on her best friend when she tried to get her out of an abusive situation.
It does matter that she's lied about being married after using that status a weapon to be used against others.
It does matter that she harps on about what you can and can't say about her because of her religion but then disrespects it by not following its most basic rules.
It does matter that she lied about smoking weed in Thailand and in Canada after adamantly denying it (and blaming the rain which was just so weird)
It does matter that she lied about her visa status (for a lot of reasons) and about her visa runs.
It does matter that she lied to her audience and her husband about hanging out with Peetz.
It all does matter, even though it doesn't effect us directly, because all of these things speak volumes about the kind of person she is. This is how we form our opinions on her and decide if we want to support her (with money or views), look away completely or do anything in between.
And she can scream and shout that she doesn't care or want those people around, and if you're going to judge to just leave but that isn't really her choice to make, and it certainly doesn't mean that all the things that cast her in a poor light "don't matter".
They all matter, and you and me and every one else are allowed to say so. She'll call us pathetic for continuing to watch if we hold those opinions, and she's entitled to feel we are, but I don't watch The Boys because I like Homelander or Butcher. I watch because it's interesting to see how their stories play out and to see the consequences of their choices and actions.
I'm not sure calling someone pathetic for being entertained by a piece of media that is specifically produced to have people watch is accurate or warranted, but Chantal has never had a firm grasp on how the world works so if this is how her small mind interprets us as viewers than I'm not personally insulted.
It won't change the fact that her motives do matter, they are very telling of what kind of selfish, greedy person she is and that will continue to entertain me until something better comes along.
I was going to talk more about how she's very much rewriting history here but I blathered on for long enough. I will say Chantal better hope no one finds the original owner because she already accused them of not playing with smokey (Chantal seems to believe a cat being excited by a laser pointer means they've never seen one before), having him in a small apartment that was no good for him and now suggesting there would be dire consequences if Chantal hadn't taken him (I do believe she's taking people's talking points from her BBJ situation here and projecting them so she can villainize the pervious owner the way she was, but can't commit to it for fear people will point out the similarities.)
Welp, I'm MATI. Fuckin cunt couldn't just drive him over to them? How hard was it to just hand him over?
Because then the haters would know where he was an adopt him and if one of them gets him its BBJ all over again.
She would rather the cat die than end up in a loving haters home.
