While there's no current US legislation specifically forcing Apple to use USB-C on iPhones, the EU's mandate for USB-C charging ports on all new smartphones sold in the European Union by the end of 2024 has effectively pushed Apple to adopt USB-C for its iPhones. This is because Apple wants to avoid having to produce separate iPhone models for the EU market and the rest of the world. The US government has not taken similar legislative action to mandate USB-C for iPhones.

Otto von Bismarck (best German to ever live)
hey now
I think ultimately, it goes down to how much it would cost and the logistic involved in keeping games online. If you really want a win, focus on emulation rather than forcing studios to do something they don't want to do.
man shut the fuck up. You have no idea what the actual demands are and have just written a billion lines of text to debunk something nobody asked for. I know you've been dunked on for the past 20 pages but doesn't hurt to call you a faggot again.
maybe don't play video games because you're 30
Very true and based though. We wouldn't have this problem if fucking goy cattle consumers had half an ounce of self control. "You don't get it I HAVE to pre purchase the 120€ deluxe edition of every live action micro transaction laden game on announcement day!!! What do you mean there are five hundred thousand amazing games already released?"

Still doesn't mean I think corpos should be allowed to steal from us. Total corpo death.
The Florida peninsula is South of Switzerland and Austria, West of Croatia. Map for reference.

It looks so flaccid
this guy is a terrible representative of this project. Both his appearance and his demeanor are counter-productive, however nice or decent he might be otherwise.
Truth tho. He comes across like he's a slightly mentally deficient man child, and also does this thing where he gets agitated about Mald but in a limp wristed way. I know he's a great guy and knows his shit, but do the masses care? He's absolutely the worst spokesperson for this, pure normie poison.

Basically the opposite of Jason. Jason has never had a good take in his life, EVERYTHING tech he ever talks is laughably wrong, but deep voice + calm demeanor = normies think he's wise.

Ross is actually a nice down to earth guy if you take your time to properly listen to him and goes into detail about everything. What the fuck are you talking about?
As for Balddavius, he doesn't have a deep voice, it's a fucking voice filter he uses and he is visibly fucking seething every time. He's just a smug cunt. Only midwit retards would listen to his stupid shit
he was Austrian
So still a german, just a southern one

Planned obsolescence is a completely normal business model for software.
"Racketeering is a completely normal business model for my protection business. As a matter of fact, security as a whole wouldn't be a viable business model unless we did public demonstrations of what could happen to your business if you aren't willing to pay for our security."
This is the kind of bullshit you'd be saying before racketeering was made a crime. Just because something is perfectly legal doesn't mean it's right. Flooding businesses with H1b immigrants from India has become a "completely normal business model" in several industries here in the US, but I don't fucking care. It needs to stop, and it's clear it will not without the government intervening.

That's my point, while the U.S. has not mandated USB-C ports on smartphones, the EU's directive has effectively influenced global practices, leading Apple to adopt USB-C across its product lines.

Was just clarifying it for those that don't quite understand it, should've mentioned that, my bad
no more brother wars chat
You're lucky I can't find the clip of pilled out Ralph saying "WE NEED MOAR"

Reactions: Nothing Is Written
It literally cannot. We basically don't have consumer protection. The only protections we get is fallout from laws passed abroad like Steam having refunds because of a lawsuit in Australia.
Are you actually stupid? Yes we absolutely have consumer protection. Google, Amazon and Visa are all going through monopoly proceedings for anti consumer practices. The Feds and most states have consumer protection agencies. Can more be done? Fuck yes! And SKG would be nice to add to the stuff we already have since there is a hole that game publishers are actively trying to fit through.

"Oh whoa is me we are so put upon in the US, might as well not fight for anything because its all hopeless" gimme a break

This petition needs one million signatures. Are you aware of the mental framework the far majority of the population is running? Hence why I specifically talked about the perception of normies.

The question was whether or not something like SKG (the citizens initiative) could also be in the US, and it can't. The best we can hope for is SKG's success in the EU to have ripple effects here for us.

Don't take it from me, Ross literally said himself the movement can't exist in the US. Maybe finish catching up on the thread before showing your ass?

Not to veer too much offtopic into that but this has happened with Microsoft as well. And as you can tell Microsoft still has their monopoly and still continues their monstrously anti-customer practices to this day, despite getting raked over the coals on it. Until you guys get rid of lobbying you're just fucked
Hence why I specifically talked about the perception of normies.
Actually fair and I apologize. I personally know one such normie programmer faggot that keeps posting this retard's content and when I tried to bring up all the shittery he did before SKG he just ignored me and made up bullshit. I keep being too optimistic about the normies

You know, I had my suspicions of this dude ever since I saw his video talking about how ban waves are acutally "really smart" despite the fact that they self-evidently never fucking work and the damage caused by a bot gathering a years worth of resources in 6 months can't be undone with a single ban wave.

I guess protecting your own job security is more important.

>We paid money for your code and we're drafting legislation to compel you to hand it over to the EU, but... not because we like you or anything!
Okay. Like I said, it's fine if you just code it yourself.

Planned obsolescence is a completely normal business model for software. In fact software as a whole would not be a viable business plan without some form or another of artificial scarcity (I notice none of you are campaigning to make piracy legal)

That being said I think online-only singleplayer is gay and I would never buy a game that has it

Fucking pirate the shit out of it. I will say it. The whole idea that the games industry has gone such a faggot way is obscene.

Owning physical copies of games is getting more scarce by the day. Then when you do pay for a game, some faggot company can yoink that shit whenever the want.

If people want to play an old piece of shit game that's outdated, so be it. No entity should have a stranglehold on something you purchase.

Yes it can, unless publishers based outside the EU want to not release their products to a multi billion dollar market potential.

Those within the EU? Ubisoft France, CD Projekt Red, Sony Interactive, Nintendo Europe and EA's subsidiaries would be forced to comply to name a few.

Oh my bad. Yeah the policy change procedure in the U.S. is cucked. Should've stayed a colony.

Every time I see a new clip from this guy, my hate meter is refilled. He's so smarmy and so full of shit. What a total tool, I really hate that people cannot see through his act. HE'S CONSTANTLY SMIRKING IN FRONT OF EVERYONE BECAUSE HE KNOWS HE'S FULL OF SHIT!
