Then over a year each still as an assistant lead QA and then lead of application security associate engineer. Shitty entry-level nothingburger titles. He doesn't have a degree, so I'm not shitting on anyone starting at the bottom or skipping college, but that's exactly my point. If his 5-7 years of freelance of "experience" actually amounted to anything and helped him get hired he'd have a higher title sooner than 10+ years into his career. He's simultaneously trying to claim he had all this experience, while still clearly starting from the bottom with nothing.

At the same time, he wasn't starting from the bottom without the help of nepotism either because of one important detail: it would be impossible for someone as egotistical as him to not mention more pertinently on his resume or to the hiring manager that he worked there previously, if his prior employee profile was not already automatically flagged by HR as a priority returning candidate. Why not hire the guy that already knows all the internal tools and everything? He's right nobody on the testing team would care how he got the job or know who he was, why would they have any reason to talk to his Cinematic Director Video Production Manager/Cinematic Editor dad? But it was still obviously an extension of the nepotism that got him back in the door, not anything he did himself because he was and still is complete shit. This is why every bit of career advice starts with networking. You have to know people.

Matpat, arguably, does actually do something very, very shitty to Piratesoftware(Mald and all his employees working on the game and mods at the time), but it's Mald's retelling of this story that really shines true his real personality when we know his behaviour afterwards:

It is in direct contradiction to his response(in 2025) to the question of why he refused to engage with Ross Scott for 10 months:

Let's do a little V2 of this post.
For reference: Last post stopped at the 5th of June. Ross' video was 5 days ago, so 24th of June. Let's see if Mald's claims that SKG gayops are killing Heartbound.
My threshold for "has played" will be 0.4h or more. Below that, it's reasonable to assume the game hasn't been played enough.
"Bought on Steam" means that the review actually impacts the game, reviews from games not purchased on steam do not count towards the total game rating.
I count something as gayops if:
- The playtime is exceptionally low
- AND The review mentions, or hints towards SKG
- OR The review lies against the game to make a point towards SKG

Someone with 12h of playtime making a review that shits on the game and mentions skg isn't going to be gayoppish.

Due to time constraints, I only did 29,28, 27th, and a bit of 26th of june.
Some stats:
- 48 negative reviews that don't look gayop-ish
- 6 positive reviews
- The two non-steam reviews WERE gayoppish, but, thankfully, that has no effect on the game's rating.
- 12 Gayoppish review, of which 4 were real, confirmed gayops.
- At best, a real ratio of 8:1 negative:positive reviews, at worst, a 10:1 negative:positive ratio.
- And a 4:1 ratio of real reviews to gayops at worst.
- There's a fucking insane lad who played the game for almost 3 days total. (negative review btw)

Honestly, I have hope most of these negative reviews are from prior to this month and mostly his former fans, mostly because some have insane hours spent compared to heartbound's content, and only a single review is refunded. The low hours are just a symptom of the game having fuck all content, because even the positive reviews prior to this month were littered with 1-2 hour reviews.

At this point it's not only a waste of money, but postpones the modplosion from his jannies.
