I know lots of people have said that Ross should have nipped the roach's misinfo earlier on and used the drama to get the sign ups but I think there was a real chance that it could have been buried by all the wow drama going on and it would have become a bullet point of the ongoing drama at the time rather than an event in of itself. Also the urgency might have pushed people over the edge into signing it. Rather than a "oh there are months left I'll do it at some point / other people will sign it" it gives a "it's now or nothing" sense to it

I've been playing Hades 2 game since it was released on early Access. It's only been out since 2024 may. But the AMOUNT OF UPDATES THIS GAME HAS GOTTEN Is a great refresher that theirs devs and steam publishing it, that do care on making and giving games (I haven't seen any bullshit about SKG)

The best example I can give is Cogmind in my opinion
It's being made by one man only. The first public alpha dropped on 2015 (so the same timeframe as heartbound), hit Steam Early Access in 2017, it's still in early access but has heaps of content. Recently (either this or last month) a big content update dropped that added new weapons, areas and 10th ending. Despite being a one man job the game is massive, it has actual story, shit you can piece together yourself across multiple runs (better than mald's arg), and it is still in early access.
The developer claims it's been long complete and what he's adding now are just "expansions" in the form of new lore/npcs/items/areas. It started around the same time as Heartbound, but instead of 2 hours of nontent there's hundreds of hours of actual interesting and entertaining content.
