This is entirely consistent with his other lies. He doesn't say something that's completely false, he exaggerates or creatively interprets the fuck out of something that did technically happen.

For example, I've said to friends that I'm working for (well-known company A) on a major project, when in technicality I'm working for a partner company B to accomplish said project for A. I don't remember my exact wording, it might have been less misleading than I remember, but it was just way quicker to say the bit that I knew he'd understand all the pieces of instantly, not to mention I do have an NDA so I wanted to be picky about what I said. Point is, that's the sort of lie he tells... the sort of lie the evidence supports, as long as you don't look too closely at it.

I got tired of this shit so I just disabled the watch history. The homepage has no recommendations but it will still make recommendations based on subscriptions or current video watched in the side bar. Has made my time on youtube much more bearable because now I just check the subscriptions page.

Algorithm doesn't work as well, you won't get recommended anything other than what youtube shoves down everybody's throat and actual related videos. Make sure to simply bookmark whatever channels you like in another browser folder and delete cookies anytime you fire up your browser.
Alternatively, Freetube does the same thing except it's a separate program, altho I have had troubles using it recently. I can't fathom how people still unironically use Youtube, especially with an account that tracks whatever you watch and ruins your recommendations.

Twitch does fucky things with encoding too, even after passing through OBS.

My point in bringing up his individual line getting compressed is to account for how this hypothetical compression would only have an effect on his voice. If it were twitch's fault, which I can 100% say it's not, why does it only affect his voice? Everyone else on the panel has a normal frequency response. Literally no compression algorithms in standard use today (e.g. on twitch's mp4's, AAC) do this much damage to a man's voice. Not to mention they just don't work like that.

You could argue he made the audio stream smaller by filtering out so many useful frequencies, but that's like trying to make room in your fridge by throwing out perfectly good, fresh food. This damage was done by him, not the encoding tech.

I'm not usually a pessimist, but the attention span of the internet is generally about a week. We're going to hit a week of this Internet story arc on Thursday, the challenge will be keeping the momentum up AFTER that, which I still believe will take a persistent effort by big voices until the job is done - if they start moving on to new story arcs, thus distracting their audiences, there is a good chance it wont get done.

Naive look at it. Ads drive people off is the point. People hate ads. This is why twitch wales are huge, not JUST for buying ads, because buying subs mean people dont leave from ads. So a whale ALSO helps watcher retention because if you got ad free streaming, you will stay compared to OTHER channels. I've done this myself, get a sub to a rando? you stick around, because ad free.

More people staying, more bits, and especially, being paid for ads when twitch gets NOTHING for it.

I guess you COULD argue hes losing SOME money in some regard (I bet bits and shit and growth make up for it) but the point is if you entirely buy out the stuff with subs, the ad money you receive was granted for nothing. It probably doesn't break any TOS persay, but I bet it pisses off twitch slightly since its gaming the system a little. (why would you pay for ads nobody would ever see?)
