"I played the retard because the campaign needed a villain to rally against"
I wouldnt be surprised if this were actually him if it succeeds.
Either that or him trooning out...
Nah, it's going to be some permutation of "I had raised these points and they are still valid, and they were never addressed, therefore I'm still right."
Or "I fostered a larger discussion while addressing some of the MAJOR ISSUES that plague Ross' movement 10 months ago and he was so ungrateful he launched a smear attack against me for simply voicing my opinion ... <stretch> ... insane behavior dude. because those MAJOR ISSUES are still there. No, I'm not going to elaborate on what they are."
The mentioning of Carmack a few pages back is funny, because Maldy reaaaaaaaaaally wants to be taken as seriously as Carmack, who is a legitimate genius, OG game dev and so much more that Maldy larps as some Milennial version of Encyclopedia Brown to try and emulate that.
He absolutely, positively, desperately wants to be in AAA and taken seriously as a bigwig rockstar developer because that's what his dad and all his colleagues at Blizzard were, what he grew up with, and what he saw. His dad was with the South Park dudes, Chris Metzen was larping around as gaming's version of Bono, Samwise (Blizzard's longtime art director) was able to quietly parade his furry stuff around (namely the Panda race in Warcraft) and so on.
The reason he isn't was spelled out by someone else in this thread out pointed out the lack of career advancement where he was stuck as a grunt in the QA mines. He has no solid skills that would put him on an upward trajectory, so he has to fake it and create the illusion of success.
