"People even tried to say
my DEFCON challenge wins weren't real"
Nigga you were in a team.
"It's been decidedly fucking stupid on the internet"
It's almost like the internet is a very volatile fuckspace shithole that acts swiftly and harshly towards people it fucking hates. It's almost like it's super easy to NOT be something the internet will point at and hate. The thing that gets me about Josh Strife Hayes on xitter and Upper Echelon on Youtube is that these guys will only see that Jason is getting extreme backlash, almost understand why but then will say shit like, "Remember the human" or "I see myself in him".
We can remember that Jason's a person all we fucking want, the issue is that he's got a shovel and despite everyone around him both in his crowd and out is telling him to stop fucking digging, he keeps going! No one in their right mind would see Jason's quadrupling down on shit as him standing up for principles or whatever. They'll see it as a moron who doesn't know when to say the very simple, "I'm sorry" or even a "Maybe I acted too harshly". Even to normies online Jason looks fucking stupid. I've got several safe edgy faggots in discord servers shit talking Jason because he comes off as an asshole.
Is the internet stupid? Oh most definitely but you're the dipshit who poked the retarded bear with a stick while it was trying to enjoy something.
I am curious what will happen to gacha if this not only passes but goes global in the perfect result. A lot of gacha flops are because nobody wanted to pay for that product, but it does allow a lot of interesting story ideas to flourish. That is to say, gachas that have an actual story and are not just auto clickers or straight up rugpulls. Making an offline version of the game is the easiest way, but I can't imagine gachas are even fun when you remove the games of chance and the updates dry up. I play a single gacha game and what keeps me coming back is the story updates that I would gladly pay full price for if it was a "real" game.
Might be doubleposting. Sorry. I'm trying to read through the thread to see if there's anything I missed.
A good example of this, at least to me, would be Tribe Nine. Tribe Nine has the art style from danganronpa and had a somewhat interesting story with the anime. It was made into a F2P gacha game but is getting sunsetted because it's a story game about Japanese authoritarian apocalyptic shit bein settled with Extreme Baseball or XB. It is really interesting to me even with the danganronpa art but we'll never get the rest of the planned story, new characters, or even be able to play the game soon.
On the bright side, the company gave out full refunds to anyone who bought stuff (could be wrong but that's what they said on steam)
