He needs to maintain the self-delusion that he's superior, whether it's intellectually, experientially, or morally. He can't disengage from that basic narcissistic requirement and "admit he was wrong" or whatever, because anything that "takes" from his ego is like a mortal wound.

Actually trying to condescend a legitimate developer ("As a dev, you know that though. Right?") and getting rolled so hard paragraph after paragraph he stopped replying. The problem is these well-credentialled devs don't realise he's a fraud - they think he's worked as a dev somewhere and treat him like he's a peer because he acts like one, which just perpetuates the myth of him among the clueless millions who still watch his shorts, and his core community of retards.
