Change comes slowly, especially in tangled undemocratic bureaucracies like the EU. But this initiative will signal to political entities that there is a large passionate demographic that is ripe for pandering. The important thing is to make them see that video game enthusiasts are no longer the ugly girl at the dance.
Ross did go over it- essentially the EU would have to literally ignore a democratic process to not change law about this. And they hate doing that. I'm not saying it's impossible I just think it's a long shot to not go our way.
