RPGs don't really need clean code, they live off dialogue, a bunch of switches, and maybe combat mechanics if applicable. Heartbound's code is still bad for this standard of course, as amply explained elsewhere.Isn't the code for Undertale also a fucking mess? I just don't understand choosing GMS2 for anything other than a beginner project. I think this dip shit saw the easy 'console support' and had dreams of his game blowing up and being released on the Switch 2.
