Plus some banks block VPN connections. I was doing a remote lab for school and had to use it so my connection wouldn't keep fucking dropping because their servers are in Atlanta and for whatever reason. I was being routed through Miami, but anyways, I tried to login to my bank and it just failed to login. Turned it off, worked fine.

VPNs are not really for privacy. It's for accessing resources on one private network from another network. Say you don't want to expose your office file server to the Internet, but still want to access it from your house. You can use a VPN to connect to the office network and reach the file server as if you were there.

Why exactly is Thor so against this initiative? Is it purely on "nepo baby" mentality alone, and/or because he has some holdout belief that blizzard will rehire him?

You'd think maintaining positive good standing with his community would be his main focus, but maybe he has enough self awareness that he knows he has to throw all his chips in the only basket he has left, being some dev desk job at the very company's this petition seeks to regulate.
